Duke's Ramen, located in the charming town of Mamaroneck, offers a culinary journey that celebrates the rich and diverse flavors of Asian cuisine. During our visit, we had the pleasure of sampling a variety of dishes, and it was an experience that left our taste buds thoroughly delighted.
Kimchi: We started our culinary adventure with Kimchi, a staple in Korean cuisine known for its spicy and tangy flavors. Duke's Ramen's rendition of Kimchi was a delightful introduction to the meal, setting the stage for what was to come.
Spring Rolls: The spring rolls we ordered added a delightful crunch and a burst of freshness to our meal. These perfectly crispy bites were a wonderful complement to the other dishes.
Vegetarian Noodles: Now, onto the star of the show - the Vegetarian Noodles. These vegan noodles were an absolute triumph. The flavors were complex, and the textures were spot on. The noodles themselves were cooked to perfection, and the broth was nothing short of heavenly. It's clear that Duke's Ramen takes great care in crafting a broth that is both flavorful and soul-warming.
Overall Experience: Our experience at Duke's Ramen was a testament to their commitment to quality and taste. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and it was evident that the culinary team at Duke's Ramen takes pride in their craft. The vegan noodles and broth were a standout, showcasing a depth of flavor that is a rare find.
In conclusion, Duke's Ramen in Mamaroneck is a culinary gem worth exploring. Whether you're a vegan or simply someone who appreciates well-executed Asian cuisine, their menu has something to offer. From the vegan noodles to the flavorful Kimchi, Duke's Ramen is a delightful dining destination that should not be missed. It's a testament to the rich tapestry of flavors that Asian cuisine...
Read moreWe came here looking to fix a craving for traditional ramen without the hassle of travelling down to NYC. Upon entering we were greeted and sat ourselves down. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had to place our orders via our phones, which is convenient because they're arranged based on your seat, and it ensures that your order is taken and prepared correctly. We shared an order of Takoyaki and Pork Shumai, both of which came out fantastic. Presentation was perfect and the takoyaki was crispy and flaky on the outside, and soft on the inside. The texture of the shumai was excellent as well.
For her entree my friend got the Duke's Shrimp Boil and added a boiled egg, nori, and scallions. I got the Chicken Chashu Ramen and added scallions, a boiled egg, bok choy, nori, and spicy crunchy garlic oil. We both tried each other's ramen and agreed that both were masterfully prepared. Portions were generous and filling and everything tasted as expected. The presentation was also superb and overall it was an amazing experience.
For dessert I decided to try some of the mochi. I got three flavors: salted caramel, cake batter, and vegan lychee. The salted caramel and cake batter mochi were good. Nothing spectacular but good enough. The vegan lychee wasn't too good in my opinion. Maybe it's the fact that it was vegan, but didn't like it at all. The texture was crumbly and had a gritty mouth feel. For how good everything else was, I was a little disappointed with the mochi, but it's only a small part of the experience.
Overall I think Duke's Ramen is definitely worth visiting for ramen connoisseurs. Besides the mochi, everything else was fantastic and affordable, with very fair portions. I should mention also that the restaurant was also very clean. I will definitely return to try their...
Read moreThis is not only the worst ramen restaurant I've ever been to, but also one of the worst restaurants in general I've ever been to. The place is cold and unheated, you order via QR code so there's not really any service and you have to pay first, the cups I was given to drink water from were crusted with a mystery substance, the counter was dirty, and the food was so bland that I wanted to cry for how much money I spent at this place. Ramen is supposed to be creamy and rich with flavor, but this was more like a bone broth with barely enough salt to have a taste. I had to add a lot of chili oil just to make it worth eating, and even then I didn't come close to finishing this bowl. The pork served in the ramen was 70% fat and 30% meat which was a disgusting experience to discover, and the egg that is supposed to come with a typical ramen bowl (which I had to pay extra for) was COLD. Luckily I also ordered a spicy chicken bowl which ended up being just as big of a disappointment because the chicken was also lacking flavor, even though it was fire engine red. And the lump of rice it was served on was overcooked and clumped together, along with the spicy pickles which were - you guessed it - also lacking any flavor of any kind. The only saving grace was the spicy dumplings. Those are the only thing I would ever return to this restaurant for. That is, if I could ensure that the main cook didn't sweat into the food which I'm pretty sure he did. I even had to ask for soy sauce for this meal because it's not provided on the counter, and then received a dirty look for asking. Maybe if the cooks actually seasoned their food as they're supposed to, I wouldn't have to load up my dishes with...
