La Gladys Restaurant II — Restaurant in Town of Mamaroneck

Not a nice experience at the Mamaroneck spot. We sat outside and we were excited about trying it out since my father had a very pleasant experience here before. One of the female waitresses we had was very unpleasant. She did not check up on us, to see how our food was, if we needed water refills, ect. At multiple points we had to get up and ask to get napkins, lemons, utensils for our meal. We had asked for a simple change of a side for one of our meals and she simply stated "no" without bothering to ask the cook if they could do that for us, meanwhile we were one of the 2 tables there and she only was waitressing on us. I asked for a fried seafood dish, the majority of the meal was fried calamari, I had one piece of shrimp, one piece if mussel and a piece of crab to which I couldnt eat because they didnt have the right utensils for me crack the shell open! The food was bland not very well seasoned, the potato and yucca appetizers with the cheese sauce was not what we were expecting. The cheese sauce was not even cheese and there was absolutely no flavor to it...

I hope this can improve someone else's experience, to train the waitresses well. I myself am a waitress so I understand what good...

i just want to take the time to rave about this place! Too many negative reviews out there and not enough people take the time to give positive feedback to a deserving establishment. I walked into La Gladys and was greeted by a big smile. I felt warmly welcomed. I was checking out the menu and took a little time to look it over. The nice gentleman offered to assist me and offered some suggestions based on what i like to eat. I thought that was very helpful. I ordered to go for my boyfriend and I, two Lomo Saltado dishes; one with chicken and the other beef. While the kitchen was preparing my food, me and the gentleman had a nice conversation. I come to find out, he is the manager. His name is Jose and he is very courteous and professional. Aside from the great service I received, I come home to eat my dinner. The portions are fair, food is hot and delicious! I highly recommend you give these guys a try and if you enjoy it give them a nice review! The world needs more of them! I am very disappointed in the service that the manger and his crew gave. I ask for their service in support of an important event that I was hosting for a small local government personnels. The food arrived one hour late, the food was lukewarm (almost cold), I found what looks like plastics wrapper in one of the dishes, and service was not up-to-par. After the event I wanted to speak to the manager in private. However, he did not show face and wanted to have the conversation through a phone call. I have eaten there many times and food has been good, but after what happened today I do not think the manager cares about image...
