Editing this post. The owners have been so attentive and professional about the reviews. In the weeks since I posted a negative review, the place has completely turned around for the better. The staff is once again professional and have kept the store tidy. The place appears lovingly cared for once again. It's such a pleasure to see the turn around for the better. We love coming to Ralph's as the food has always been good. To see it come back around with a new professional staff is wonderful. Changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars.
This place has been going downhill for the past year. Is there any manager or owner that actually cares about the service? This visit was the last straw. The place was dirty, old sticky ice cream all over the tables and floors. The staff were two teenagers spending the whole time complaining and yelling at each other about who should be doing work, who should be taking out garbage. I think the guy helping us was fed up because his coworker wasn't helping him. In fact, she was just standing around eating ice cream and complaining about wanting free meals. For the amount of money I had to pay, I didn't want to hear the drama or eat in a dirty place. Why doesn't Management bother to hire employees who are interested in their job or care half way, so that employees like the overworked guy taking care of us wouldn't have to have a meltdown in front...

Ah, Ralphâs in Mamaroneck â the local shrine to disappointment, disguised as an ice cream stand. Where else can you be greeted by staff with the warmth of a DMV on a Monday morning? If youâve ever wondered what itâs like to be served by people who make sandpaper seem cuddly, this is your spot.
Letâs talk about the legendary soft serve machine. Or should I say, the alleged soft serve machine? The sign teases you with flavors like pistachio and black raspberry, but donât get too excited â they havenât had either one since the Obama administration. Itâs basically a museum exhibit at this point: âSoft Serve Machine (Out of Order, Forever).â
Every visit feels like a gamble â will they be open? Will anything be working? Will the staff speak in full sentences or just sigh aggressively when you ask for a sample? The suspense is unbearable.
Sure, the ices are decent when you can get them, but the overall vibe? Like being served dessert in a dystopian wasteland where joy and customer service went to die. Save yourself the drama and just eat frozen disappointment at home. Itâs...
Read moreThis rating is for the management/owners. I visited this ice cream shop on April 19th, which was a very warm and busy evening. There was only ONE employee in the entire shop working at a furious pace to meet the needs of a long and unending line of customers. She looked exhausted, but managed to maintain polite customer service despite the unreasonable circumstances she was working under. How could she take a break? How could she go to the bathroom? She had to work the register and serve the ice cream entirely on her own, including making complicated sundaes for multiple customers.
Eventually I left because the line was too long and I couldnt bear to watch her endure these unfair working conditions any longer with no assistance or support. I have put up with my fair share of difficult jobs, but put in her position, I would have told everyone the shop was closed and gone home rather than work myself to the bone for management that doesn't value me enough to put proper relief plans in place or step in themselves....
