Food was great, corned beef hash pancakes and a breakfast burrito, I wanted to take my girlfriend out for a nice relaxing brunch around 12. I get there and immediately am met with a very short tempered waitress who seems to want nothing to do with us. We get seated, we wait 30 minutes just to get served drinks and then when it comes to ordering food, I ask for strawberry pancakes. Immediately the cook starts whining about how busy he is and starts saying profanities, out loud for the whole restaurant to hear, I look around to see if it’s just me hearing this and I see the 2 other families in the restaurant just starring out of the corners of there eyes, at this point it’s starting to make my girlfriend feel uncomfortable. While all that is happening the short tempered waitress starts yelling across the restaurant at a man who went outside for a couple minutes to get a phone call, I don’t know why she was yelling but at this point we’re stuck in a restaurant that’s the size of a living room with people shouting and screaming like it’s super busy when there were only 8 other people there. After that my girlfriend and I decided it was best just to grab our check and box our food before we got it, the food is great and there was one waitress who honestly seemed embarrassed by how the other employees were acting and that’s the only reason this place got a tip. I have never had to leave early out of a restaurant like this before, and it ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing brunch with my girlfriend. I would expect this behavior from a Waffle House not a diner I’m paying $50 for corned beef hash, 2 pancakes and a breakfast burrito. I would say stay away because my friends and family have had a similar altercation so I can imagine this hostile environment is just...
Read moreI will start by saying the food wasn't terrible(though some things burnt and overpriced). The milk and juice were walmart brand (that probably only matters if you can tell a difference, I just happen to be able to but it is also clearly displayed in the fridge) what made this diner a ONE star was that it was a billion degrees in there....eh still not the problem....watching and hearing a waitress get completely demolished with nasty comments and verbal abuse was the most horrendous, appalling, uncomfortable situation I have ever been in at a diner. The owner, a shorter, short tempered nasty lady was verbally ripping to shreds the only descent waitress working there. The atmosphere was WORSE than anything I've ever encountered in such a situation, the owner even came off rash to us. We waited 25 minutes for our check after our plates had been cleared and weren't asked if we needed or wanted anything else (we did, upon seeing warm villa bread-which we didn't get) a shorter waitress (which I presume was the daughter of the owner based on resemblance and Lack of being harassed) was short with us, and at one point stared at us and snapped "coffee?!" (So i guess TECHNICALLY, we were offered that lol) after the staring caught our attention- we were sitting at the bar, trying not to look at anyone as tempers and abuse was flying. What a horrible place. I hope the taller, thin waitress finds a place that will respect her, or at the very least not treat her like trash. Shame on this business. Stay...
Read moreThe "cook" needs to be fired. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years and am a local in the area. I came in and ordered a menu item, requesting no meat. The waitress assured me that would be fine. There were only a few other people in the diner at the time, so it was very easy to hear the "cook" throw a tantrum at having to leave off the meat from an easy breakfast sandwich. (Mind you, I was still paying full price and the only change was leaving off the meat.) He was yelling and huffing and eventually declared he would do it, but when the food arrived, there was meat on it. Something I did not notice until half of the sandwich had been eaten. He spitefully added it in KNOWING I WAS A VEGETARIAN.
This is absolutely unacceptable and frankly dangerous. People with food allergies, people who are vegetarian for religious or health reasons, and those who have dietary needs have to be able to trust restaurants. And this place is untrustworthy. My body is not used to meat and this had physical consequences.
This was not an isolated incident; reviews on Yelp and Google make it clear that this "cook" has done things like this before, and I do not recommend this establishment until he is removed. The owner should be aware that they are opening themselves up to liability and potentially being sued in the future if this vindictive, careless person is allowed to remain in...
