Scenic location on Mirror Lake for casual dining.
We got tired after strolling through the beautiful main street of lake placid village and it was dinner time. God, plenty of options on the street and the problem was waiting time. We chose this restaurant and waited around 20 mins only. but we wanted a table overlooking mirror lake, yup meal was a necessity but having dinner overlooking the lake - that's experience.
We got a table and settled. What a view it was- dusk time, people paddling, kayaking, and soothing music, superb..!!
We ordered- Drinks Spring Chicken Sandwich- bread was very soft and chicken with coleslaw- sumptuous it was. Citrus Salmon - prepared with lemon, butter and white wine with potatoes - as per my wife, it was so-so. it was a chunk of big salmon piece and the taste was just okay.
Service: despite the crowd & rush, it was good. Ambiance: it's a sports bar. Price: as it should be in any prime tourist spot. $20-35 for entrée. Restroom- available (& it’s clean)
The entrance to the restaurant is confusing, there is an adjacent bar near it, and seems both are part of...
Read morePortions are big and food is decent for a sports bar. But the experience was not on par. We ordered the nachos and burgers and we got them pretty fast (5- 10 minutes for the nacho s ). Then, 5 minutes later we get the burgers. The problem here is that we did not have time to have not even half of the nachos and burgers arrived. Well, so now I have to eat the fries cold and the burger saggy ? Because someone can not "time " it decent? I'm not expecting High end French cuisine , 30 mins pause between dishes but at least 15 minutes you need to leave between so customers enjoy . Nachos as en entrée is a big portion ( BTW, I think we should have been maybe advised by the waitress that is too much food for two ) and you can not have the main dish coming only 5-10 minutes after the entree has arrived. There is simply NO time to enjoy this. So the overall experience is mediocre. Food is ok. Service I can say is bad. Verdict : there are better options around, so unless you have nothing better...than I would try it for a fast food place...
Read moreCame up for a long weekend to ski and decided to go out to eat and ended up here. I have been here before and everything was great so I thought going back would be about the same experience but unfortunately I thought wrong. My boyfriend and I got seated right away which was very appreciated as it was a Friday night and everywhere was packed. Our waitress came (didn’t introduce herself) and got our food and drink order (chicken parm and chicken Alfredo) and brought our drinks back. When she brought the food out to us that was the last time we saw her before we waved her down for the bill. I work in the restaurant business and understand when things get busy you can’t always do everything all at once or dont want to bother a table to many times but checking in with a table to make sure their food is good or if they need a drink refill should be standard procedure. We both had empty drinks and no one came to fill them or check on us once. Despite the sup par service the food was great along with...
