🥯 Yelp Review: Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen – Garden City, NY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ben’s Kosher in Garden City is a nostalgic gem with a clean, cozy vibe and that classic old-school diner energy. We arrived right as they opened and were greeted by a super friendly front desk team. The service was warm, the space spotless, and the food? Perfectly comforting.

I ordered a simple egg dish with a potato pancake—crispy and golden. My wife had the nova salmon omelet with fries, and it was a hit. And let me just say: the coleslaw is top-tier—fresh, crunchy, and seasoned just right.

Parking is easy—right next to Barnes & Noble, so you can grab a book and a bite. The booths are cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic breakfast or brunch.

Sorry, I don’t get the negative reviews. This place is top notch. But if I could make one request: please start carrying bagels. I’d be here daily.

I absolutely love Ben's. I can't say I ever remember a time I ate there or took out the food and was even close to unhappy. The latkes are the best. If I can't manage to eat one, I make sure to put an order in for a cold takeout. The Cole slaw is the best. I like Cole slaw and pickles, so when that hits the table, I get psyched. The Pastrami and Corned beef are the best, and it's a toss-up, which I prefer, but you can't go wrong either way. The knishes are awesome. The hot dogs are awesome. I think you'll find that everything is good at Ben's, and I have just about 30 years eating from several of the locations. Here's my pro tip... If you have a cold or a sinus thing and you don't have a mom or wife to facilitate the making of God's medicine, or what we call " Jewish Penicillin", you can get "Grandma's soup" with a Matzo ball from Ben's and rest assured your getting what you need.

It's a nice and friendly atmosphere with great service and great food.

P.S. if you're not adding Cole Slaw to your hot dogs topping repertoire, you need to...

Ordered not lean corn beef and pastrami combo sandwiches cold. Told them I would be heating them up later in the day. Picked up at 11am, got home at 11:45am. Placed the bag in the fridge until ready to eat. About 3:30 pm looked at the 1 sandwich thought it looked like lean meat, but thought probably congealed. Heated for 1 minute in the microwave still wrapped. The sandwich was lean through and through. I called and spoke to the manager who proceeded to blame me for the not so delicious sandwich. As per manager I should not have put it in my fridge, and definitely not heated in the microwave. Funny thing is I do that when I get sandwiches from Katz in Manhattan for well over 40 years, and the same when I got them from Ben’s on Queens Blvd. with no problems. Very un business like. Way to tick off customers to never go back. Worse $44.50 plus gas traveling 14 miles one way for two lousy sandwiches. To bad I can’t add pictures of the sandwiches. Staff on phone were very nice. Just the...

For almost 50 years Ben's Kosher Deli has been deliciously catering to the tastes of people that love good food. I always order the Stuffed Cabbage as it tastes just the way my grandmother made it. As a child I got to help roll the leaves up with toothpicks holding in the stuffing. She would add tomato soup and let me help by crumbling up ginger snap cookies. Ben's version adds some golden raisins for added sweetness. YUM! Every table gets a tray of coleslaw and pickles. And we always opt for pastrami instead of corned beef, sliced thin. I prefer the Rachel which makes it a Rueben minus the swiss cheese. They make excellent Chicken Soup, Kreplach and Roasted Chicken. And don't forget their Potato Pancakes! Double YUM!! They also do catering. If you haven't tried Ben's yet, there are several Long island Metropolitan locations. And there is one in Boca too. Let's show Ronnie how much we love Ben's, stop by, dine in or order out or cater a lunch for your staff. You won't be disappointed!
