Although all the eats are very tasty here, the service is not as great.
There is no service actually - you simply have to bring everything to your table and clean up after. I can live with that...
Not everyone fully understands English which makes it interesting when asking for help/service, or about ingredients.
For me personally, (as a writer, and someone that works in cafes and coffee houses) what makes it difficult to enjoy the coffee and tasty eats is that there's no WIFI and it prevents me from going there. When I asked for the WIFI no one understood what I was asking, was told to ask the next person and just go downstairs for more help. I called downstairs and was told that he owner, doesn't want anyone to have the WIFI password. I asked to speak with her, to see if we can figure something out and was told she's not in, and we don't know when she'll be here again. Not so helpful or resolve oriented... I found it strange and unfortunate that in today's time, I can't enjoy coffee and work in my own local coffee shop. I do enjoy it there and hope it improves service for all the young, new families coming into the neighborhood! And so I can have the opportunity to go in, and enjoy working over a treat and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a Roslyn resident and I come to Dianeās all the time for coffee and baked goods, at least once a week.
I invited new moms and dads from the Roslyn school today for a gathering at Dianeās this morning to support local business. We had about 12 people. Sat outside at the patio where the shaded area was. Everybody all bought coffee and pastries. We arranged the tables and chairs in a long row so we could see each other.
Later we were told by Diane, the owner, that she wasnāt happy that we rearranged her tables and sat together in a row. Why? The place wasnāt crowded with other guests. We all bought and paid for goods. I couldnāt help but thinking that because we were all Asians?! I bet if it was a bunch of Jewish parents she would greet and welcome them with a smile.
She could ask us kindly to put the tables and chairs back once we finish, which we did at the end. But with the unwelcoming remarks I will never come to support this business again. I donāt say this lightly but I felt it was racism in every way.
Iām truly disappointed. I like Dianeās but the owner was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is disappointing that this bakery has chosen to employ a manager whose behavior is consistently unprofessional and disrespectful. This morning, I reached my limit. From a distance, I witnessed the manager treating a long-standing customer with blatant discourtesy over what appeared to be a simple misunderstanding. As a manager, it is her responsibility to handle such situations professionally and work towards an amicable resolution, yet she failed to do so. This is not an isolated incident; her demeanor regularly takes away from the welcoming and warm atmosphere this establishment is supposed to provide and other than her, does provide.
As a loyal customer myself as well, I find her presence at the front counter to be a daily source of frustration. It diminishes the overall experience and reflects poorly on the bakeryās otherwise...
