Van Leeuwen Ice Cream — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Everything about this place is spectacular. My son and I were in tonight for the first time as we were driving through the area, and we were greeted the moment we walked through the door by a kind young man who let us same a flavor before we made up our mind. We got two flavors/scoops each with hot fudge and whipped cream, and I can honestly say this is our favorite ice cream now in NY! We will definitely be taking the 40 minute ride in later this week with my other son so he can try it for himself too. The difference in taste due to better quality ingredients is so clear! It's worth every penny. And as someone with family members that have various dietary needs, I appreciate the vast assortment of vegan...

Not sure what the damn hype is over this place. The place has an awful system where both people working behind the counter are both taking orders, which makes the line not move at all. The ice cream is hella expensive: $7.45 for a scoop ! It’s ice cream, of course it’s gonna taste good, it should be $2! No ingredients listed any where of what’s inside. Also… why on earth does any place offer free samples? What stupidity !! going by how much ice cream they give out for free samples with their prices is probably three...

New wayyy overpriced ice cream spot. Service was wonderful, employees were very friendly and welcoming, but two little scoops of ice cream for $11 is unreasonable, probably won't be back simply because of that. Of note is that half of the flavors they offer are vegan, who on earth goes out for vegan ice cream? 1 flavor sure no problem but half?
