This place is now open for just over a month now. I am a fan of mexican food and was thrilled to check it out, since the location is also closer to home in Pittsford where I live. I visited here on July 19 and again on August 22. Location: good Ambience: very good Service: bad Food: really really bad Not sure if they even know what mexican food should be like. There are few other mexican places in town (e.g. Monte Alban). And their food quality is orders of magnitude better than this place. On July 19, they didn't have any beer on tap (the menu had it). They said they are just setting it up. I gave them the benefit of doubt. I come back a month later on Aug 22. Again they didn't have the beer on tap (the menu still mentioned it). Their lame excuse was 'somehow they are not able to fix the issue, and are yet unable to set it up'. If you cannot figure out how to set up such a basic thing in over a month, you shouldn't be in this business. They appear to have spend most of the money on decor. There were other issues: The silverware was not washed/cleaned properly. found food stuck on them when I removed the wraparound napkin. The wait staff sat on a table right behind my table to clean/sort/arrange the silverware. The server was very rude. Almost felt like they didn't want to be there.
And the worst part of them all: BROKEN PLATES!! THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE AND I haven't seen something like this before (PICTURES ATTACHED). Practically every other plate was chipped!
I know this is not a gourmet mexican restaurant (I didn't expect this going in). And I have experienced all variety of mexican food on the east coast, west coast, and southeast but come on, at least try to be comparable to other places in town.
I would place this place slightly over Taco Bell and slightly below Chipotle. I wish I could give a 0/5 rating, but google won't allow this.

Read moreI wanted to rate this place higher because the food was actually pretty decent for what I was expecting.
Now the bad: our waiter was absolutely atrocious. Our waiter whose name sounds like WATER (we are not intending to give your name to the public), made us wait at every conceivable moment. From our drink order, to waiting to order, to filling our empty drinks, to getting our credit card back at the end. Waiting....waiting.... endlessly. It was laughable.
Now to mention the food, we both had fajitas which were cooked well and tasty. Nothing to gripe about with that, instead what is a bigger issue here is the absolutely tiny portion of sour cream, guac and cheese that's given. It's miniature size. When we asked for another round of the sides because ours were gone within one-two tacos, we were brought another round of sides. What we didn't expect was to receive another charge on our bill for a total of $7!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must be kidding me, I've never seen such an upcharge for something so tiny.
Please actually mention to your customers that you will be charging them instead of just giving us the additional tiny sides and having us find out at the end that you are assaulting our bill for the cost of a full size beer with a SPRINKLING OF CHEESE AND GUAC. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?
Thank god we didn't ask for another round of tortillas. The food was decent, the beer was decent, but the service and upcharge on the sides were...
Read moreRead moreI enjoyed my very large pork chimichanga @ ADELITA'S MEXICAN Cocina in Pittsford Plaza, off Monroe Ave. It came on a nice, hot, pretty blue & white platter - this kept it warm for a good while. Delicious sauce, chunks & shreds of pork, rice & beans - really good - covered with fresh lettuce & pc's. of tomato - along with a cuplet of very tasty guacamole & one of fresh sour cream. Yummy. The chips & zippy salsa beforehand were great; fresh & crispy chips with somewhat spicey but not 'hot' salsa - yum ! I tried the Mexican Rice Water; it was perfect milky, sweetened, thirst-quenching, a good counter to the food. Yum again ! The employees were a mix; some extremely friendly & welcoming, some mild & polite. All good. Cheery Mexican music in the background WAS in the background not the too-loud syndrome often encountered everywhere. Decor pleasant, appropriate. I was there about 12 or 12:15pm on a Thurs.; plenty of tables. It filled up rapidly by about 1pm. There is plenty of parking. I have a friend who felt differently about the food, but I had an entirely great experience ! (I even took some home & ate it happily that night.) Felt good to get out & relax, even with everybody...
