I never knew that Dave's Hot Chicken existed alongside Moe's SW Grill, in the Plaza located at 756 Glen Street, Queensbury. However, I felt like trying something new. So, I walked into Dave's Hot Chicken. My first impression was that it appeared new, clean, colorful, and creative. When I looked at the menu board, I thought that the name (Dave's Hot Chicken) leaves you to wonder what it means. i.e.: Is it all spicy chicken that tastes spicy hot? Or, do they mean "hot out of the oven?" I'm really not a fan of spicy, so, when I ordered the slider sandwich with no spices except for salt & pepper, I wondered if what I received to eat would be tasty, or not. Well, I got a very "rich" tasting sandwich which had coleslaw & pickles on it and a special sauce on the side which I did not use. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. The french fries had a pleasant tasting seasoning on them which was not all salty, but rather sweet & somewhat salty. The fries were good, but truly, they were tepid, not even warm. I think the name should be changed to Dave's Delicious Chicken, and although the fries were good, someone else needs to "man" the front counter with the person on register, because the guy was so overwhelmed with taking orders, that when I went up to the counter to pick my order up, 15mins after ordering, if I had not reminded him that I had paid for a drink, he was about to send me packing without it as he was hurrying to get to the next customer. Also, when I went to the machine to pour my coke, there were no lids that fit the small cup I was given and it appeared that the lids were smaller than my cup. How is that possible? I tried to fit the lid on the cup twice - nada - didn't happen. There were also no napkins where the lids were. The napkin dispenser was empty. I remedied that by getting some napkins at the pickup counter out of a napkin dispenser. The only guy taking orders at the front counter, was swamped, and he was not very outgoing/communicative either. As the kitchen staff put food up in the window, I watched it sit in the pickup window for 3-4 minutes. Come on guys, dreaming big is a wonderful aspiration, but how about paying attention to what is really going on at your business? The price for my meal which was a small chicken sandwich, fries & a small coke was $16.49 & I left a custom $1.00 tip, so I paid $17.49 and I was not eating at the restaurant. Truly, I'm on the fence about going there again. If I do, I would expect that the things I have told you about would be made right, because the cost of the products is not, in my opinion, commensurate with the product delivery. It's important to make customers feel important - and tepid french fries, lids that don't fit and small inconveniences, for the price, just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a worker at this Daveās Hot Chicken and gotta say, I love the environment, the people, and the food and almost everything about this place.
With that being said though I understand some people might not share the same sentiment as there can be a wait at times, food may not be piping hot, or service may be a bit lackluster but please bear in mind that we are short staffed due to most of our team either quitting/losing their job due to lack of care, poor effort, or just flat out not showing up.
Also occasionally here and there, during morning/opening hours, it might only be 2 people opening and setting up for the day, which puts us behind a lot and causes stress and frustration for us all, therefore causing a butterfly chain reaction that affects wait times, quality, and more.
Keep in mind as well that some workers donāt have the best sense of urgency when it comes to getting orders out on time, so theyāll take their time making an order that shouldnāt take more than 8-10 minutes max.
We have been striving to do better and improve our services and quality but please bear in mind if reading this that even in a best case scenario, we can mess up and miss some things, but thatās okay cause weāre all human here and itās still fairly new territory for some of us.
So please be patient with us, and give us another chance if weāve ever let you down, cause some of us really do care about the work weāre doing and want to provide delicious food & awesome service for the people of Queensbury and the surrounding communities/areaās whilst providing a safe, friendly, and accommodating environment for our workers.
Thank you for your time and I canāt wait to see yāall and serve you fine folks of Queensbury. Stop in soon and grab a bite, weāll be here waiting for yaā...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped in around 5:40 on Wed for a quick bite with my wife. No one was in line, but noticed a lot of people sitting without food. Took 5 minutes before the order taker made eye contact with us. She appeared to be working by herself. Was in and out of kitchen packing to-go orders. Finally took our order. As we sat, we watched more people walk in and waiting to just place an order. Line was getting backed up. People were turning around and leaving. At one point, the girl working by herself walked away from the counter to use the restroom which is the same one customers use. She came back out and was on her cell phone. No one was manning the counter for 2 minutes. After about 20 minutes with people in line, she grabbed her pack and walked out the front door. Another kid came in I guess to relieve her. These employees show no emotion and no care to people waiting in line to either pick up an order or for dine in. Where is the owner or manager? The employees seem very depressed. Our buzzer finally went off 50 minutes after placing our order. Went up to counter and had to look through the orders to see where ours was. Customers were walking behind counter and serving themselves? Trash can was overflowing and I had to bring it up to front counter so the kid could throw it away. Who trains these people? Our order was correct and tasted good, but it was tainted by the worst and most uncomfortable experience weāve ever seen. I put this on the ownership and management, not these kids that obviously had no customer service training. Will never come back. Iām sure others would feel that way if this was their...
