From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is all about freshness, quality, and love for bagels. The aroma of freshly baked bagels hits you immediately, and it’s impossible not to feel excited about what’s coming next.
The bagels themselves are incredible—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. They have an amazing variety of flavors, from classic everything and sesame to more adventurous options like jalapeño cheddar. The cream cheese spreads are rich and flavorful, and they even offer specialty spreads that feel homemade. I tried their smoked salmon bagel with chive cream cheese, and it was perfection.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. They clearly know their products and are happy to give recommendations if you’re unsure what to try. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
What makes this spot especially meaningful to me is that my grandpa would have absolutely loved it. He was always a fan of a good bagel and appreciated a place that treated their food with care. I could picture him sitting there with a smile, savoring every bite, and chatting with the friendly staff. Visiting Bagel Lovers felt like a little nod to him and the simple joy of sharing good food with the people you care about.
The cafe itself is clean and inviting, with enough seating for a quick bite or a casual morning coffee. The attention to detail—from the perfectly baked bagels to the warm service—shows that Bagel Lovers isn’t just a bagel shop; it’s a local gem that genuinely cares about its customers.
If you’re in Riverhead and love bagels, this place is a must-visit. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or just a quick snack, Bagel Lovers will not disappoint. I know I’ll be coming back again and again, and I can’t help but think my grandpa would have made it one of his...
Read moreI called in an order the other day, and the person taking my order sounded very snippy and even slammed the receiver down on me after I finished. When I arrived to pick up the sandwich, everyone was polite, and the checkout went smoothly. However, when I got home and opened the sandwich, it wasn’t what I ordered.
I went back and to get the sandwich fixed , and the employee I spoke to was happy to correct the order. But while I was there, I noticed another staff member in the back who seemed to be annoyed over the situation and that the sandwich was getting fixed. I'm not sure what the situation was maybe they were having a bad day, but it just gave me a sour taste in my mouth. I don't really want to come back now.
I get that working in the food industry can be tough, I did it for 10 years and there are some days where it just hits you. But no matter what I always strived to be as kind, professional and understanding as I could be. Treat others the way you'd like to treated no matter how busy or...
Read moreI was disgusted by the way they handle food, money and everything else in between- with the same gloves on. It doesn’t matter if there is no law stating it’s mandatory to change gloves if your employees touch money, management should make it mandatory in order to provide clean service for your customers. I was told by the employee as I complained about this that customers have to request for the gloves to be changed because money doesn’t carry anything into the food LOL how sad is that. It may not transfer food borne illness but it sure does carry germs. I waited 10 minutes for the sandwiches and as I waited I watched as the employee handles money, stocked supplies, took gum from her mouth and threw it away, and scratched her nose all with the SAME gloves on as she causally helped another customer with bagels .. have some decent consideration for people’s food if you are running a food business. Once again, DISGUSTING....
