Amazing all around!
We discovered La Scala after looking for an in-between Italian restaurant to meet up with friends, 3 of us coming from Western Nassau and 2 of us coming from deep Central Suffolk. It was a busy Friday night, yet we were still seated right away without a reservation. However, I would recommend making a reservation if you are going on a busy night just in case, as every other table was taken.
We were started off with a plate of bread and mashed olive dip, which my father loved. For an appetizer, we got baked clams to share, they were perfectly done and delicious.
Then, the main courses came out. We got Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Francese, Chicken Imperiale, a plain pizza pie, and steak fries on the side. Everything was cooked perfectly how it should be, and we were all raving about our food. Normally I am not a fan of steak fries, but La Scala made them great, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The portions were gigantic, so you will definitely have leftovers to bring home with you.
Our waitress, Jennifer, was great. She was attentive and engaging, even while juggling other tables. Another plus with the service is that it did not feel rushed at all, unlike many other restaurants these days where it feels like they are practically trying to push you out of the restaurant to make way for the next customer. One of the owners even came by our table, introducing himself and making sure that we were having a good experience.
For the dessert, after Jennifer brought over a plate showcasing and explaining all the options, we went with the Tartufo, which she went above and beyond with, ensuring that it was perfectly sliced to share. It was delicious, and a great way to cap off our experience at La Scala.
Another thing to mention, which is important, is that the food was reasonably priced, which is hard to find these days. Like I started off with earlier, we had an all around amazing experience at La Scala. I am glad that it ended up being a great choice. We will...
Read moreMy Wife and I have come to this place every weekend for the past three years and intermittently the years prior. The service has always been exemplary and the food has always been great however tonight we ate in the dining room as usual and experienced delayed service. Additionally we ordered 2 To Go meals for my son and his wife which we delivered to them only to have my son contact me to FaceTime and show me the chicken was raw. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with the manager Carlos who said to come in and he will give us another dinner. He was completely disinterested. I advised we will be back in with the undercooked meal and advised we would accept a different dish in its place. My son and I arrived and while we were kept waiting, within 10 minutes a couple complained that no one has even attempted to come to take their order for /2 hour while others were being served who arrived after them. In addition, a different couple left and said their fish was undercooked. While Carlos brought us another meal I explained what we experienced in the past 10 minutes. I thought it was important he should know there was a problem. He literally could care less. My son and I decided to check out the dinner before we left and they completely omitted the entire dish which was the pasta that would be included. I returned the meal to Carlos and advised he should not have allowed this meal to come out incomplete especially after had to drive there again since there was a problem already . He looked at this as if it wasn't a big deal and a joke. When I advised I will never come back again he said "OK". Result: I will never come to this establishment again. I would advise extreme caution before anyone ever spends another dollar here. In a time that is most difficult for businesses to stay alive, it is clear the voice of La Scala (CARLOS) has expressed that they don't care what anyone has to say. Very disappointing to...
Read moreCame here to celebrate a Birthday, but was worried because I haven't been here since before Covid. And I was concerned the food and service changed. Well I was concerned over nothing. The food was better than I remember. The waitress was great, after we were seated, they immediatly brought Garlic Knots to the table. The Garlic Knots were so soft it was like eating an out the oven biscuit, with Garlic baked in and garlic oil and Parmesan cheese on top. And they had some tomato spread that went well with it. I could of eaten a dozen of them. But that bread saved us money, because we didnt order appetizers. She ordered Angel Hair Primavera with Chicken. The portion was nice. Definitely food to take home, which was the next day's lunch. I wasn't sure what to get, so I went with their special, Honey-Glazed Half-Chicken over spicey/sweet Brussel Sprouts. I don't know how they cooked the chicken but I was tasting the Honey-Glaze within the meat. It was so good. Not huge fan of Brussel Sprouts, but it was the perfect compliment to the sweetness of the chicken. We enjoyed the meal so much, and glad we got there when we did. Because by the time we noticed the place was very busy. As we ate our meals, we enjoyed watching the other dishes being served. They do a great job with food presentation. But the waitress made the night for us, but definitely for me. Like i said, it was a birthday dinner, and we said that to the waitress as we were seated. When we finsihed and was enjoying the ambiance, without me asking the waitress, she brought over a small cup filled whip cream and a candle and sang Happy Birthday. Again, I didnt ask her to do this, she took it upon herself to do this. It's those small gestures that made the night even...
