We were a party of 4 heading there for my husband's birthday after a great day with friends. We went in , and things started fine, and we loved the vibe. A server came relatively quickly to take our orders. And that was the last good part of the experience when it came to service. The service after that was so bad, it was comical.

For context, the place was not full.

My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with salad and a beer. The server asked Caesar or house, and he said house. I ordered the chocolate brownie sundae and a coffee espresso soda. The other couple we were with ordered wings, fried cauliflower, and a beer each.

In no particular order:

The server spoke so quietly I was the only person at the table who could hear her over the music because she was right next to me.

The guy who brought the drinks put them all at one end of the table instead of properly serving them, with no indication as to which of the 3 different beers was which. My husband had to call him back to ask, and he had to disappear for several minutes to get the original server to tell us. My soda was identifiable in its bottle and was good.

The bacon on my husband's burger was practically raw, gelatinous and gross, and he had to send it back to have it cooked.

His salad came with no dressing (the server had never asked if he wanted any or what kind) so we had to flag her down to get some. It was finally brought about 10 minutes after he'd asked for it.

We were brought no flatware and had to flag someone down to ask for it.

I sat there watching my ice cream melt until we were finally brought forks and knives. I ate my ice cream with a fork because it wasn't worth it to flag down a server again for a spoon. Speaking of my sundae, the description called for candied walnuts on it. They were plain walnut halves.

We had to flag someone down for more water.

When we originally ordered, my husband told the server we'd like to keep one menu at the table to be able to order additional beer. She looked uncertain but acquiesced.

THREE separate people came to the table to try to take the menu. Each time, we asked to keep it for the beer list. The third person refused saying she was short on menus (again, the place was not full and most of the tables had been there before us) and insisted on taking it. She said she'd bring it right back. At that point, it was pretty clear they didn't care if we ordered more, and the whole experience had been such a comedy of errors, we said we didn't want anything else. And yet... no one brought the check. We had to flag someone down for that too. We told multiple employees that it was a terrible experience.

AFTER we paid the check, the woman tried to bring back the menu.

Never once did a manager come ask if they could help. Not once did a single employee seem to care.

The beer is good. We'd had it before at bars. The food was fine. The service was downright atrocious. Never again. And honestly, it makes me not want to necessarily order their beer out at...

Went to Aspire on Saturday night after a day out to enjoy some dinner with friends of ours. The food and beer was mostly fine, but the service left quite a lot to be desired.

We ordered beers and then food from a waitress who spoke so low that I couldn't hear her at all. To our surprise, the food and beers came out at the same time, which was a bit of an inconvenience as one of our party had only ordered a beer and some dessert and now had to drink her beer while her ice cream melted.

Additionally, the busboys bringing the beers didn't know whose beer was whose, so he just put them on the table, and was leaving when we asked which beer was which, and he pointed to the other busboy who was offloading our food onto the table, and he shrugged his shoulders and went to get our waitress so she could sort it out. A minor inconvenience but now we're up to 3 inconveniences.

One of our party had ordered a burger with a salad...the bacon on the burger had barely been cooked, and there was no salad dressing for his salad. I asked him and he said the waitress had never asked him what dressing he wanted so he thought it was coming with some sort of house dressing.

the waitress came by while we were waiting for the bacon to be cooked, and asked if she could take the menu she had left us. We said that we wanted to hold onto it so we could order more beer so she left. A few minutes later, a different waitress came by and asked if she could take the menu, and we told her the same thing to which she replied that they "needed" the menu as they were out of menus. Mind you, the place was not even half full, so we found this hard to believe. What kind of place runs out of menus on a not so busy night?? We told her she could take the menu if they needed it that bad, and she said she would bring it back when she was done with it.

the bacon came out, we had to ask again for the salad dressing but it too finally came out and we enjoyed a meal together as the food was tasty.

Our waitress came and gave us the check and asked me about the service and so I told her each point that I made above. To each point she gave me an excuse, "the kitchen got the bacon wrong", "I asked him what salad dressing he wanted", the bar was busy which is why the beer came out with the food", we needed the menu for our other guests". No accountability, no desire to make us feel better about our dining experience, no apology for all that had happened. The final straw was the other waitress coming back with the menu as we were getting up to leave AFTER we had paid, and when we told her we were leaving and the we could have used the menu 30 minutes earlier, she said we were being rude.

I've been to Aspire before and sat on the QR code side, and never had an issue. If I ever go back again, I'll probably go back to the QR code side because the full service side was...

I am very unhappy with the food and customer service at this establishment. My wife and I visited this restaurant for our first time last night for a date night. We both ordered the same entree and a couple of drinks each. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. We were very surprised by the price of the bill. Mixed drinks are $16 each with no price listed. However, we gladly paid the bill and left. Approximately 6.5 hours after getting home, my wife and I became violently ill with food poisoning. After spending over $100 on a dinner out for 2, it was absolutely miserable to end our night so sick. My wife called the restaurant as soon as they opened this morning to warn them about their contaminated food and request a refund before writing this review. She spoke with a woman (she believes her name was Kaitlyn) who claimed she was the second highest up in the establishment with only the CEO above her. First, the employee questioned my wife whether we were sure we didn’t get sick from something else we ate because she claimed food poisoning takes days to kick in. My wife is a nurse and is knowledgeable that that is not a true statement the employee made, food poisoning can kick in within hours. Also, we have children and my in-laws in the home and no one else was or has gotten sick. We all eat the same things throughout the days and my wife and I hadn’t eaten lunch yesterday in anticipation for the dinner. In addition, we have a toddler who is always in our faces and sleeps with us and is completely healthy. Secondly, she only was willing to refund us $40 of our more than $100 bill. After such a horrible experience we would have hoped such a large establishment would refund the entire bill to make up for the horrible sickness we endured after eating their food. My wife asked to speak to someone higher up, but she would not connect my wife to anyone else, nor did she take our number for someone to call us back. So I am urging anyone reading reviews prior to visiting this restaurant to reconsider your choice of restaurant (especially anytime close to this date) because you will spend a lot of money and may very well end up very sick afterwards. I’m sorry management could not do better to...

This was our inaugural visit to Aspire Brewing in Middletown, NY. It is a very large establishment that houses and brews its own beers. The tanks are visible through the glass walls, which are sparkling clean. The seating was quick. We decided to be seated outside on the front terrace as the weather was perfect for Alfresco dining, plus it dampened the very loud music. I personally thought it was too loud. You would not be able to carry a conversation at the inside seating. Since this was our first visit, I can't say for sure if this is a regular atmosphere. We started with two appetizers, the pretzel and chicken wings, as well as three beers (#23 Cervesa Aspirar a Mexican Lager) and a Pinot Grigio The pretzel rivals the Biergarden in Hoboken. The pretzel includes three dipping sauces, mustard, cinnamon butter, and cheese sauce. All were good. Entrees were Rigitoni Bolognese, Korean BBQ Pizza, Classic American Burger, and a Steakhouse Burger. The Bolognese is loving simmered to perfection with tender ground beef with rigatoni topped with parmesan cheese. The Korean BBQ Pizza is a cheese pie with jalapenos, BBQ sauce topped with scallions, and a sprinkle of togarashi seasoning. All ingredients really balance out even though the jalapeños give it a kick. The Classic Burger is just that. Two, three ounce smash patties with melted American cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. The Steakhouse Burger is two, three ounce smash patties with bacon, pepper jack and swish cheese, and crispy fried onions with a tangy horseradish steak sauce. All entrees were prepared well with a decent presentation. Service was prompt and courteous. Our server really new the menu too, so it was a big help when selecting a beer. It's got to be the largest beer menu I have seen. We topped off the dining experience with a Brownie Sundae. The brownie was really good, soft and gooey with a crisp outer, and served with vanilla ice cream. Prices are typical post covid, inflationary levels which I think we all have seen around. I would have given it 5 stars, but the music was just too loud. Perhaps management could tone that down for a better dining experience.

Aspire Brewing offers a clean, modern space with an unusual layout that immediately sets it apart. My family and I visited with friends from out of town, and the first impression was a positive one—we were greeted quickly and directed to the QR-based ordering system and self-pour beer wall. The concept is clever, and while it takes a moment to get your bearings, the posted instructions make the process straightforward. The atmosphere is relaxed, encouraging guests to linger without feeling rushed, making it a comfortable place to catch up with friends. That said, the self-pour system left me less than impressed. Even when following the instructions, every glass poured came with a hefty collar of foam—sometimes a quarter of the pour—which you still pay for by the ounce. It’s hard not to feel shortchanged when compared to a bartender’s more precise pour. Between our group, we sampled eight different beers. While none were bad, none stood out either; the lineup leaned solidly “average” at a price point that felt too high for what was offered. The food, however, was the highlight. We tried pizzas, burgers, and a couple of other entrées, all served at the proper temperature and with appealing presentation. The pizzas, in particular, surprised me—the crust was better than you’d expect from a brewery kitchen. The loaded nachos were tasty, though the portion size felt stingy given the $17 price tag. Where Aspire Brewing really stumbles is in its tipping culture. Every transaction—whether ordering food or picking up a self-pour card—included a tip prompt, despite minimal staff interaction. In a largely self-service model, this felt misplaced and irritating. In the end, Aspire Brewing delivered decent food in a comfortable space, but the average beer, frustrating pour system, and awkward tipping practices detracted from the experience. With so many local spots offering better beer and equally good food, I don’t see myself returning.

Came in for opening day and service along with food and drinks was top notch. Surprised about negative reviews for soft opening. A soft opening is usually a time for new business to figure out what the glitches may be. Today was great. Ordered meat lovers pizza and an aspire chicken sandwich and both came out in a good time. Both were absolutely delicious. Yes I didn't have much internet connection when I first tried to order thru the qr code but there is plenty of staff available for help. Staff gave me wifi login and I was able to get in. I forgot about ordering the fries and was just able to ask server to add to tab. This place is huge and beautiful with great drinks. You have the option to sit n be served by bartender or pour your own. We went with pour your own and just got a card and poured our own drinks. There was someone available to help you through it but there's also a guide on the process. At one point my card needed to be reauthorized, I quickly found a staff member n told them the issue. They mentioned how after a certain # of Oz. Poured the card will stop you from serving so that a staff member can come over and make sure you have not had too much to drink. I had one card for my party so I suggest you get a few cards if you are coming in a group. Other than this minor hiccup I don't see anything close to a negative. Friendly service. Good beers. Good food. Plenty of parking. Huge space and comfortable seating. I may be coming every week!
