This is a review I feel I need to make. I'm from Michigan but came for vacations on Dec 29th. I don't know the times they close but I came at around 9 o'clock that day. The server didn't see me and my husband until late and she apologized for it (nice girl), she even paid for our beer. The problem came when she explained to us that The kitchen was about to close but that they would make our food because she didn't see us on time, she explained that it was her fault. We ordered, got our food, and when we were starting to eat a worker (from the kitchen) complained out loud about 2 people coming in before the kitchen closes (I had no idea what time the kitchen closes on a tourist area like Traverse City). I advice to not let your angry employees get out through the main door saying rude things to people. I only ate because I was hungry but I fell that I was not welcome. I will never come back. Go to Taproot...

DON'T DO IT. YOU'LL BE SORRY Sunday Dinner time barely half full. But almost 10 minutes for the server to walk away from the other employees crowded around the end of the bar talking to come take a drink order. He seemed generally bored and not interested in coming to work that day. Finally returned to take the order and after a considerable amount of time came by to refill just one of the drinks ( all the others were also empty but he didn't seem to notice so we had point it out. He returned and said our food would be up in 5 minutes. 30 to 40 minutes later still no food. After finally getting food about an hour after we walked in the door. One dish made wrong, most of the plates overcooked and an offer of salsa that turned out to be cocktail sauce. We received the full bill and a hapless eye rolling of an apology. It was time to go.

I bet this was a good place at one point but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND...

I stopped in to grab a quick bite with some friends. The place is cool looking and the service was good. I got some popcorn and ordered the parmesen garlic fries. The popcorn was so salty, you'd think it just got cheated on. I mean completely inedible. No biggie. Was more excited about the fries. Well, they are actually pictured in the bar pics and if you look close enough at the pic, you will see my gripe, they literally come in a pool of oil. I'm not talking like some oil that dripped off, I'm talking like 3 or 4 cups of oil! Like why?????? Anyways, I eat a couple of these bad boys and noticed they were especially oily after 5 or 6. Then I noticed the ocean of cholesterol at the bottom. Long story short, I made in a quarter I. The basket before I didn't feel good and I was violently sick for 2 days after. And I mean bad! I was say go here for the drinks,...

Our family of four stopped here for alate lunch. Couple of us got the perch basket, someone got chicken strip basket and someone got the sliders. We ordered and basket of garlic parmesan fries. I have to say this place is awesome. Service was friendly and food came to us very fast. The foods was hot, which we all loved and commitment on it. The portions were big, actually all of us did not eat all of our portion. I have to say this is a great place to stop and have lunch. We were all impressed with everything even with the Michigan football game playing. We definitely return!

We were looking to grab a bite before heading home bound & picked this place based on some Google reviews/images. We were happy to end up here. Our server was friendly & fast! They bring you a free bowl of popcorn to snack on & it is delicious. Not over the top salty, just right! We liked the antiques that were scattered about. The food arrived quickly & it was delicious. We definitely come back again.

I went with my family. We all had the Friday Perch Dinner special. It's a good old-fashioned fish dinner with fries. I had not been in either of the double-wide bars (Bootlegger's is on the other side.) I was pleasantly surprised that it's not a dark, old bar. It is old but it's well lit with a few gems of bar nostalgia on the walls. They even have a popcorn machine. I would definitely go there again.
