I walked in to order and wait for takeout. There was a line of about 6 people before me The person who took my name punched it in correctly; however, when my order was completed, a different name was called than my own for my order. This resulted in an extra wait time of 10-15 minutes. The GT cherry chicken sandwich was okay. It seemed to be made out of canned chicken, only one half of one grape and maybe a dried cherry or two. My partner had the cherry chicken salad was better than average. The highlight of the meal was the goodie bar, which is basically an "everything but the kitchen sink" cookie. This had chocolate, butterscotch, and coconut and tons of sugar. I also took home a chicken pot pie for later that night. I would say the pot pie was the best thing we had ordered that day. If you're set on GT Pie company, I would HIGHLY recommend the pot pie (we had chicken). The crust is flaky and delicious. Also, the perfect amount of gravy per chicken/veg ratio. They have these togo or for dine-in. They also have refrigerated pot pies that you can take home cold...

Deciding to spend the day in Traverse City it was a no brainer to come have lunch here. Just as I expected, the dinning room is clean, and the staff is really friendly. While I was waiting for my pie slice another employee came up and asked if they could help me. I think he felt silly when I told him what I was waiting on, but its nice that he asked instead of just ignoring me. I went with the Applewood BLT & Mountain Berry Crumb pie. Every bite was delicious.
Its really hard to screw up or even top a BLT as they're pretty basic...but they do here! It is my favorite thing here (besides the pie). The restrooms are clean and well stocked as well...which is a huge plus. Most bathrooms are icky. I also didn't feel that the floor around the fountain drink machine was sticky, again, a plus. Oh, and did I mention that our food came out quickly? No?...

Stopped in at the Grand Traverse Pie Company while in town for a family reunion (because nothing pairs with awkward small talk like caffeine and sugar). And let me just say — this place is baking history.
Of course I had to get the cherry pie — I mean, it's Traverse City, the cherry capital of the universe. Pretty sure it's illegal to leave without at least tasting something cherry. The pie? Absolute perfection. Flaky crust, juicy cherries, not too sweet, not too tart — just like Grandma wishes she made.
The coffee was hot, bold, and strong enough to keep me polite through three more rounds of “So what do you do again?” from distant relatives.
The lobby was clean, the staff were friendly, and the whole place smelled like happiness and butter. 10/10 would recommend — and not just because I need somewhere to hide during the next family...
