I loved this place. I'd always take the family here when visiting. Unfortunately, their customer service took a drastic nosedive recently. I ordered a Grand Traverse Cherry Crumb Pie on November 27, 2021, and had it shipped to my uncle in Texas. It specifically states on their website that all pies are baked and shipped, yet he received it "raw and doughy". He tried calling numerous times without any answer. After a week and a half, and twelve calls later, he said someone (Pam) finally answered and was promised to have another pie shipped, which never happened. I personally tried calling the original Front Street location myself without any luck after seven calls. I stopped by last week and spoke with Heather, showing her my call log and explaining my dissatisfaction. Mind you while there, the phone happened to ring and went completely unanswered by the young ladies working when there were more than enough employees to be able to answer the dang phone, and it certainly was not that busy while speaking with Heather. Within an hour after I left, Pam herself called me and said I would be reimbursed the full amount which was fine with me. What was, and still is, not fine with me is the fact that she promised she shipped out another pie after speaking with my uncle and actually informed me that "three other pies" were supposedly sent to him. I doubt that three pies in between our conversations were willingly shipped out on their part because he received the first one that was raw...yet never received the others that were never asked for because trying to get a hold of anyone here was damn near impossible. I hate being lied to, and this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Here it is December 28th and he has yet to receive any of those pies that were supposedly shipped. Could it have been intercepted by a rogue carrier? Possible, but doubtful considering what I mentioned earlier. For $55.98 the pie should be the best of the best, instead, I/we received the worst of the worst with the pie and...
Read moreLandmark pie and tasty sandwiches and salads and Highergrounds coffee. Was one of our pre-pandemic rotations when brunch with pie is a necessity. Good loyalty program too (pie day and birthday pie). Dollar off coffee if you over 60. Ask for it... Dangerously delicious things. Once a month maple cinnamon roll as it's too good for weekly. Yum! Getting out again post COVID and the experience is still YUMMY! 11/03/2023 monthly visit for senior coffee and a maple roll was disappointing as the coffee was day old cool and there were no maple rolls available and the cinnamon roll was small, cold and hard. I soaked it in my cool coffee to make it edible. Will always ask before ordering next month if the coffee is fresh brewed and the tasty thing is fresh. The worst is I wasn't asked if I wanted it warmed. There was a line so I didn't provide direct feedback and will take the responsibility to inquire and be aware of the service degradation. Stopped in to pick up pre-order pies for Thanksgiving and the service and quality of my choice maple cinnamon roll improved. So, updating the review to reflect this. Also, if you are ordering fruit pies order two days ahead as they bake in the morning staring at 8 am and the pies aren't...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but we just did not have a great experience. This is a fast casual place similar to Panera. Whoever reviewed this and stated it was similar to a diner is incorrect.
You line up and order your food at the cashier. We have never been here before so we needed time to look at the menu, the cashier was not happy with that and seemed annoyed we had questions and didn’t have our answers ready to go.
My dining partner got the chicken pot pie which came with a coffee and piece of pie. I will say that the cherry pie is a 5 star, the crumble is delicious and the cherries marry tart with sweet! The chicken pot pie was filling and the crust was flaky.
I got the cheese and broccoli quiche and it was a hefty slice, about a quarter of a quiche. It was good and filling. If you get coffee it’s a self serve bar. The cherry coffee is unique and good, I would try it if I were you.
Overall this place wasn’t bad per se. But the service was not great and I was looking for a diner type breakfast spot, not a Panera grab and go. I wouldn’t come back here again unless it was for a...
