Saturday 8:30 PM ET, I walk-in, there's no wait, the hostess greets me, and sits me (by myself) in a booth. I was really looking forward to my meal - chicken tenders with a side of Frank's Hot Sauce, a 4-piece Detroiter and a Coke Zero. Table - check. Menu - check. Silverware - check. Ready to order. And I wait. Hostess sits another couple two tables away. Still waiting. I hear the bartender tell the customers at the bar that she won't be the regular bartender tomorrow. A staff member walks toward table, passes by me, buses a table behind me and returns to the kitchen. Still, I wait. A waitress checks on a table between myself and the couple just sat two booths over. The staff member busing tables, returns, passes by, buses more items from the table behind me and again returns to the kitchen. I notice a waiter continuing to arrange chairs and what appears to be closing down another section of the restaurant. Humm. I check my watch. Eleven (11) minutes has passed since I was seated, and I have yet to be greeted by waitstaff. I'm done waiting and I exit stage left without being greeted.
Too much to ask for? I'm a reasonable person. If the establishment was slammed, on a wait at the door, I would be understanding. But not tonight. Simply no reason except piss-poor customer service - which is really sad to experience as I frequent this Buddy's location at least twice a month. I truly hope this isn't a vision of...
Read moreI was looking forward to having a buddy's in Troy. I was very disappointed in the service and the pizza. I placed an order at 4:58pm on 11/25/2020 The girl on the phone said it will be 30 minutes and she did not give me a order # which I needed for p/u . She also did not tell me the final cost. The weather was very rainy and It took a little longer to get there to pick up my order. I arrived at 5:40pm. They had a person outside telling you where to park and someone would bring the pizza to my car. After waiting 30 minutes I called to see why it was taking so long and I was told it will be right out. When the person came out it was 6:10pm I decided to check to see if it was still hot. Unfortunately it was not, the salad was warmer than the pizza. Nothing worse than eating a cold pizza!!! I paid $30 for a large pizza and an individual antipasto salad. Not the experience I was hoping for.
I did not give them a good review. 1 star I was contacted by Tim at the Troy location, after a few questions that he asked he apologized and did make it right with me. I do love Buddy's pizza and will give them another chance. Thank you Tim! I did change the review to a 5 star because I feel like they do care and said they always want to improve anytime they...

Had to try to Detroit style pizza and this place popped up with rave reviews. Didn’t disappoint! Not a franchise although it feels like it could be based on the vibe inside. Apparently there are around 18-20 locations around. Nothing wrong with the vibe.
Of course, pizza was the only thing I was looking into. Comes in 4 slice and 8 slice sizes. 4 slice is probably a small / medium in other places and 8 slices medium / large. These are rectangular pies (can I even call it that anymore) so the comparison to circular pizzas isn’t quite there.
They have a ton of toppings and crust types and sauces to really make the pie your own. I chose an option that was on the menu. The Mediterranean.
Great flavor! Crust crispy. Cheese with a little tart, in a good way. Veggies not overpowering the pizza but still tasty. Some “sauce” drizzle on top. I didn’t realize there was no tomato / marinara sauce so I asked for some on the side to dip the pizza / crust, as needed.
Great beer selection as well. Proud to support local breweries.
Service A+. Anita was nice and friendly. I hope you get to...
