My family and I have been to Nothing Bundt Cakes in Troy many, many times. We have loved their cakes however my recent experience that just occurred will prevent us from ever returning again. I stopped in to pick up 2 dozen bundtinis for my son's daycare birthday treat, as well as another small cake. During check out, I asked for a separate container/box (or anything) as I wanted to separate the the bundtinis before dropping them off at his daycare, as the daycare didn't need all 24. The cashier, LaPara stated they couldn't provide me with anything at all. I tried to clarify thinking there must be some kind of misunderstanding as they obviously must have even just a small empty container in their establishment. The cashier stated she would ask and then returned with a lady who I am assuming is the owner or manager. The lady stated they can't give me any sort of empty box, so then I offered to even pay for an empty box if that was the issue (even though I had just spent 50$ there). The lady then stated I could buy an empty container for 2$, but that they were making an exception for me. I'm sorry, but me getting charged for an empty cardboard/paper box is somehow doing me a favor? Ridiculous. I ended up paying the 2$ for the box, but that will be the last time I spend any money there.
I will say their cakes are good- overpriced but we always still purchased because we loved their red velvet. Unfortunately though, the bad customer service outweighs the taste of the cake so we will not be returning. I will also be sharing this experience with friends, family, and coworkers as well as not recommending this establishment to...
Read moreMy Mom stopped in here shortly after 11:30am today to see some of the choices. She asked for the nutritional information because my son is diabetic and she wanted to see how many carbs and the sugar content in order to determine if he could have one for a birthday celebration. They showed her a blue card with the information. She wanted to take a picture so she could then show me. The lady put her hand over and blocked her from taking a picture saying you can't do that. All that was on there was the standard nutritional information, it was not a recipe or any other content. My mother explained this and also asked if it was online so she could just see it there. The clerk got her manager and the manager said that it was not online and that it's company policy... ridiculous. After leaving and then checking online, the same exact blue card is right on the company website. So, a complete botched opportunity and lack of staff knowledge when interacting with a customer. You all should probably train your employees better to understand what information is a secret vs what is not, and readily available online. Additionally, how importanr certain nutritional information may be to some customers for various health reasons. It was just nutritional information which is required by law. We won't be coming here again as we have been plenty of times over the years. Learn the difference between a recipe and a...
Read moreCame in Tuesday September 25th, tugged on the door wouldn't open? There was a lady standing right there that worked at this establishment she turned around looked at myself and the person I was with and turned right back around and continued to carry on with what she was doing. Not even a "hey, sorry for the inconveince" or a "yeah, we are closed please come back tomorrow etcetera etcetera etcetera". NOTHING. Thats when I noticed they had a sign up saying closed due to mechanical issues. Your employees really do care about customers! Thanks for that. You really don't know how far a person drove to get to your store .. really should be more polite to people. It really costs zero dollars and zero cents to be polite. And maybe next time send out a mass e-mail ..to customers on your subscription and as a courtesy let them know your store is closed for the day.
Update: I get an e-mail directly from this Troy location's owner. Rather quickly nice job on the P.R. front. Stating next time I'm in the neighborhood to ask to speak to a manager and express my concerns and issues or to contact them via phone and do so.
Your the owner you express my/your concerns and issues to your staff. Let them know they should have better people skills. Maybe hire people who can represent your brand in a positive fashion. Maybe that person standing by the front door was your store...
