My experience here was decent, but there was some room for improvement. To start their soda machine is out of order. You need to have soda available if serving Mexican food cmon. A nice coke goes perfectly with tacos, burritos, nachos. That is like having no syrup available at a pancake house. I know there are those people who are thinking that’s not true’ margarita is better soda no good lol! Yeah well alcohol causes dehydration so eventually I’m gonna want a flavorful non alcoholic beverage that isn’t water. And that beverage happens to be the most consumed soda in the world so it shouldn’t be a problem. I found it quite funny that the worker could not answer a question regarding the food because she never ate there lol that is not a con nor is it her fault, but I have been noticing that more at restaurants these days. Servers, workers have told me on various occasions they never tried the food at the restaurant they work at. The experience was mixed, but had its positives. I ordered the tostada with seasoned pork and cali fries with carnitas. I have to say I was very impressed with the portion of fries they served for that price. Other restaurants should take notes. The tostada was okay, but not really for me. I was being adventurous on my vacation so I thought to give it a try. The fries were very good and I emphasize the word fries, because the other elements did not have much flavor. The carnitas were a bit dry and tasted funky, and the guacamole on it did not have much flavor. It is interesting to me how this is a Mexican restaurant, but the best part of the meal to me was the French fries, not the pork on it or the tostada which are more Mexican dishes. I actually couldn’t even finish the pork because it tasted so weird and on this day I had no lunch, so if I don’t finish it there is definitely something wrong haha. If you do order the Cali fries I highly urge you to get another protein aside from the pork. If you are in the area and in the mood for Mexican food, this place is a decent option despite a few setbacks. The chips are good, the dips don’t have much flavor but I do like the quick service. Every single time, no matter what i order, I have to always ask for extra meat and pay for it, but not even by doing that, they wouldn't serve the extra portion. I don't necessarily know what their portions are supposed to look like. But I've been to the oder locations at lemonvalley and reno, and they are completely different compared to the Truckee location.
Today, I ordered a torta ahogada with xtra meat... they literally gave me a torta with nothing but extra beans, so I paid 27 dollars for a torta full of beans..... that also happened every time i ordered their tacos, ceviches, cocktails, and every single thing I've ordered before....
I tried to give them a chance, but on top of my disappointment with their portions, their food isn't even fresh, and not to mention their lack of customer service.... Definitely nothing close to their Lemon Valley location, and definitely not coming back to...

The hot sauce here is weak, pedestrian and not worthy. Too much nasty water added. And good luck getting any when the clerk disappears. Salt, straws, napkins etc are rationed. Water served at table is undrinkable and taints the fountain sodas and ice. Have a beer with dinner. Men's room is ghetto. Service is provided by dead, uninspired people.
