Port of Subs — Restaurant in Truckee

This is literally the worst port of subs I have been to. I have tried 4 different time to see if my experience changes. It has not. Here are my issues:

1. they seem to be out of all bread choices (usually only one or two)
2. the soda machine has only been fully stocked and working 1/4 times and I am not told when purchasing large fountain drink, so when I got to get a drink I paid for I am not able to find a soda I like
3. there is always a line because of how slowly people are served
4. all the employees speak English as their second language, which is never a problem…. When other service is adequate or exceptional but when this lacks not being able to communicate adequately in English is frustrating
5. the atmosphere is terrible and I imagine it is because everyone is having similar experiences to mine

I love port of subs, and it is disappointing That after 4 attempts I will not be returning...

Very friendly, great communication, presence, and service! They did a thorough job of making sure my sandwich was to my liking. Can’t say this is common for port of subs, or any sandwich shop/deli. The shop was also very clean. These new owners are doing it right! Will be back.

I would also like to mention that this place hasn’t always had the best reputation. These older reviews do no not reflect the current state of this shop. I have been local to Tahoe/Truckee for my entire life. I am very impressed with the new owners’ drive to improve this place. These people take pride in their business. Way to go and...

Man! This place went downhill since I last visited. I lived in Truckee many moons ago and this was my go- to spot for a quick sandwich. Well, this previous visit made it my last. I ordered a pastrami sandwich. The quality of meat they use was horrible. It was actually disgusting! In addition, the guy preparing my sandwich asked if I wanted salt, pepper and oregano, I said sure! Well, he dumped so much of it that all I could taste was oregano on the bread.
