My family and I are native Tucsonans of Hispanic descent. So we know authentic Mexican food. This NICO'S is the only one in Tucson that I will eat at. I love their chicken taco's (not rolled) with lettuce and cheese, chicken chimichangas (not enchilada style) DELICIOUS and my other family members - rolled chicken tacos, chimichangas, burritos and super nachos. I truly enjoy the food at THIS LOCATION! I live by the Tucson Mall, however, my family and I are all over town. So trust me we have tried them all. This location on Broadway by Park Place Mall is my FAVORITE place to eat, drive thru or delivery. The food is always fresh, hot (temperature) and delicious. In this day and age, the price is perfect and very good portions! What I also really appreciate is their customer service. You know it's not just a paycheck, they are not just putting in their time. They enjoy their jobs, they take pride in the service they provide and above all, they strive for customer satisfaction. We are all human, so it does happen, mistakes that is (so far only once, Ikr). They do not take any constructive criticism personally, they have no problem correcting any mistakes and that is rare indeed, with any business interactions in this day and age. Right? Delicious food, great portions, reasonable pricing and excellent customer service 💯👍. Check it out..... P. S. They have 2 types of chicken for certain menu items. Shredded chicken with red chili and grilled, juicy, shredded chicken. I prefer the latter since I am a wimp when it comes to hot/spicy food. Bon...
Read moreTL/DR: Local, delicious, inexpensive, efficient/accurate, local!
Let's be honest here: local, local, local. Gotta be, especially lately when local is hurting. This Nico's is so good. I typically go with the veggie burrito- includes sour cream, I think, and if it doesn't, fix that- but I was feeling a little adventurous, went with the Ranchero. I'm not looking back: this burrito had the squish, the texture, the crunch, everything you'd want from a burrito. The chicken was great, tasty, salty and spicy; Nico's tortillas always be stretchy, warm, delicious. Honorable mention to the guacamole chips: mmm, with some cheese and salty tortilla chips, a little pico there on the end. If you're on a date with a woman who loves you, these chips add to the already awesome conversation you've been having since first dates. If this is your first date, it'll be your last because of all the delicious guacamole all over your face. Unless she's into that (and you're really good at choosing dates). When my wife and I were getting to know each other years ago, I'd get an order and we'd share over her lunch period. :) I miss the inside: nothing special, but really clean. And it always smells DELICIOUS in there. Last mention, the crew. Nico's staff is on point: really nice, efficient, accurate...
Read moreIt took almost a minute before they greeted us at the drive thru. After greeting us and we started to order the guy seemed confused with my order even when I was ordering it as it's offered on the menu. The portions were decent but put in the containers slightly sloppily. I asked for 2 water cups at the window while we waited for our food and didn't get them until after we received our food and the drinks we'd ordered with our meals. They handed them to us in the drive thru with no lids on them and it spilled on me as I was getting them from the cashier. I realized after finishing the water and eating a few pieces of ice that they were little black bits in the ice itself like actually frozen into the ice. That alone was enough to make me losey appetite for a bit. I won't go back after that. Which is fine since I don't live in the area and I was just giving it a try. Didn't finish my food because as much as I wanted to it just wasn't good cold. And as stated before the I e in my water made me lose my appetite, and since obviously the same ice went into my sodas I just...
