I was driving home from helping out at another location that I work for. I was falling asleep as I exited the I-5 on to the 405. I decided to stop into kitanda because the one in Kirkland was always a step above starbucks. What I got tasted like a watered down hot chocolate. I wanted a 20 oz vanilla latte. Forget the vanilla flavoring, I didn't get any flavor whatsoever. It was weak as could be. I'm not a master barista or anything but I have worked at a place where I learned how to make coffee. It seems like they packed in the shot and let it run off for 20 ounces. I don't like writing reviews, especially bad ones. The girl who helped me was extremely nice. I'm not sure that she's the one that made it. There was about an hour before it closed so maybe they we're in the middle of closing and didn't put any effort into it. It's just disappointing. I would always recommend this place to people because this I never had an expense with this with kitanda. It reminded me of a Safeway Starbucks. Just like any restaurant you go to, it's hit and miss. It was a huge miss this time. If you don't hear from me I didn't make it home and I died in a fiery car crash, ultimately from the lack of caffeine. If I'm still alive: kitanda hook it up with a STRONG one! Even Michael Jordan missed every...

‘’treat others the way you want to be treated’’....
I wish I could give this place negative stars...I used to be a fairly regular customer because I Love the place.
Refused service because........?
Approximately 3 weeks ago a group of us about 15 people were hanging in this place and the cafe was about to close we were the only customer at the time and this server (Arnold( man Young server )* came to us and told us that we are loud and being rude to other customer. The thing is there was nobody. And when we talk to him why he’s acting like that, he told us he is the manager and told us to leave the store or he will call cops. Without none reason. We always go there after church so we didn’t make any wrong so we Lough about it and left from the coffee place , but after three weeks yesterday Sunday may 20th we went there to drink coffee and they denied service there , its because we are a bunch of black people?. The thing makes it hard was the same person from past told for all his coworkers not to serve Us. Well We all can see the hate in his eyes and the way they talk to us. Basically if you are black this is not the place for you. So , Don’t came here if you are black, You might get kicked out too because you are Lough to loud.
Shame...
Read moreUpdated 2021: Still love going to Kitanda! The drinks are impeccable and the employees have always been super kind and friendly whenever I go in.
After finding out I have a dairy allergy, one thing I really appreciate about Kitanda is how accommodating they are! I've tried their drinks with both almond and oat milk as substitutes, and they are equally as delicious as their dairy counterparts!
Always happy to stop by and support Kitanda when I'm in the area and craving coffee! Super tasty! I've never been much of a latte person (they're kind of flavorless to me, the ones I get from Starbucks at least), but try their "Brazillian Latte" and you won't regret it!
My Brazillian latte was fairly priced, in comparison to other coffee shops I've been to. It's a great budget conscious option :-) I love their snacks like the brigadeiros, nutella & coconut bread. It's also fun to browse other interesting treats they have displayed around the store while waiting for your drink.
I'll definitely be back to try more off the menu next time I'm at...
