Let me just say, I have had numerous great experiences in store.
Today, however, was a very different story.
I ordered on the app for delivery “ASAP” at 11:29 AM.
I pre-selected a 20% tip and paid a $2.99 delivery fee.
I called at noon to ask what was going on and was told they had had about 4 orders come in and that mine would arrive “soon.”
My order was not marked as Out for Delivery until 12:03 PM. Not what I would call Freaky Fast, but it’s New Years and I know it’s probably busy.
I live a 6 minute drive away from this JJ’s location if don’t a straight shot from here to there.
I called twice at 12:30 PM and 12:32 PM to ask for another update and no one picked up either time.
I got a call at 12:36 PM from the delivery driver asking which house mine was, offering an incorrect house number and stating that “none of these houses had numbers on them.” I told her our correct house number, as included in the order, and told her that our house was numbered both on the curb and on our home. She asked 4 more clarifying questions about the color of our house and our vehicles, and then dropped part of our order off.
My sandwich is soggy. I am missing a drink. And my entire bag /order / food smells like cigarette smoke. And was expected far before 12:36 PM - as the hallmark of JJ’s is “Freaky Fast.”
I called JJ’s at 12:40 PM and spoke to someone about my concerns. He said I could come in another time for a “replacement” and I asked about specifics regarding what I would be receiving a replacement for. He wasn’t sure. I then got a call at 12:41 PM from my delivery driver offering to come back to my home to deliver my drink. I told her not to worry about it because we have bigger problems at this point seeing that I waited over an hour for a soggy, smelly order.
This is so far beyond...
Read moreI've lived in many cities and experienced many JJ stores, but this is the worst one I've encountered. I used to work at JJ's in Illinois, and as a delivery driver, we were told that "freaky fast" means we get the sandwich out the door within 120 seconds, and deliver within 5 minutes after that. With this location, you could literally order a stuffed crust pizza from Mazzio's next door and get it quicker. One particular night that I ordered for delivery, when I called the number 45 minutes after I placed the delivery, they said "you're the next order in line." I called 30 minutes later and they said, "sorry, we just didn't get to it," and told me it would just be easier if I came in to pick it up. So I did, but they didn't refund me the delivery fee. I sent a complaint to corporate Jimmy John's, and they gave the cookie-cutter "I'm sorry, this isn't how we do things, the store owner will reach out to you." That was over 3 months ago, and coincidentally, I haven't been back to ANY Jimmy John's since then. This store owner severed my consumer-relationship with Jimmy John's, a place that I used to eat at multiple times a week and...
Read moreI am only commenting because I see the restaurant responds and I wanted to give a head's up that I think there is a problem with online ordering. I love Jimmy Johns and have had delivery countless times but the last two times I have ordered online the order never came. The first time it happened a few weeks ago I called after waiting 50 minutes and the order arrived immediately after I called to let them know I had an order (I live two streets away). I thought "accidents happen" no big deal. I ordered again and this time the same thing happened, no order after almost an hour, but when I called they said that it had been delivered to the wrong house. Definitely possible. But, then I waited 20 more minutes and still no order so I called and cancelled the order and ordered from somewhere else instead because I was hungry. I do feel like my order should have been prioritized after an hour of waiting :( Just a head's up that something is wrong with the delivery system since it...
