My mom an I was being seated and I thought restaurants were supposed to clean and sanitize the tables. I noticed the table had not been cleaned. The table had food on it and had been wiped or raked off. The table didn't have any thing that could be seen except at an angle. Before we sat down I asked our waiter to clean the table well he got a dry cloth and wiped it but since it was not wet it didn't work at all. The young man spoke to him self but he said this to out loud, he said these people are getting on my nerves that is when I asked him what he said and he told me he was not talking to me. I took my paper coaster and dipped it in my water and I cleaned the dry food off. It was about the size of a saucer. Then dried it with my napkin. Then we waited for about twelve minutes and I could tell he was just going to ignore us. I a lady standing over talking to another worker and I got her attention and I told her either someone was going to take our order or we were walking out. I told her what the young man did of course she apologized and took our order. We both ordered ribs and Meanwhile while we ate our salads I noticed it looked like all the managers from the chain. It might have been between 5-8 men and women managers. Every one of them came by our table and talked to me & my mom. They were all very nice and professional. I told the one that lives in Saltillo and that had been in the military and was wonded in Afghanistan. I thanked her for her service and told her I was a Veteran my self. She told me she would use what I told her about our waiter as teaching tool. I also heard our waiter call us country folks. Well I can't help the way we look no more than he can being Black. I apologized to him but he has a lot to learn he never admitted he had done anything wrong. I asked him who he was talking to if he wasn't talking to me and he said some girls name but there was no one there. I told him he had better learn to keep his opinions to himself. We were near the bar but at a table and he was over behind the bar. I asked him how long he had been dealing with people and he said I have been doing this for a long time. If I had not known how good the food is we would have left. If I am going to pay for good food I expect great service. I really don't know why I gave him a tip because all he did was bring us our water with lemon & sugar. The manager brought out our food. I will never put up with that kind of treatment. I have learned to be very laid back and you never can tell how other people's day has been. I had just carried my mom to her Kidney doctor and she had told us that mom would have to go on Dialysis and that it would be very hard on her. She told us that Dialysis is hard on a twenty year old. My mom is 92 yes (ninty two). I am sixty four. The young man picked the wrong day to say bad things about my mom. I will go back in Applebee's but to keep myself out of jail I will never go back in with him working there. I now am upset thinking about yesterday. I do wish I would have bought this problem to a manager's attention and just walked out. I should have told someone to sanitize our table before we ate our meal. But I thought they were supposed to do that anyway. But it never happened. Sorry for the English and spelling. Good eats to all. We should never eat off a dirty table. Everyone stay safe...
Read moreHonestly the food is ok if you ever get to eat but the service most of the time is horrible. We always say we wont go back then get drug back in a group of friends or work lunch and get a great waitress. So then I feel why not give these guys another chance with my family...no that would be a mistake. Must be daunting to service a table of 4, 2 adults one teen and one pre-teen. All well behaved, even my husband. And due to knowing the drill with waiting tables I'm usually pretty cool with slip ups and can spot the new servers that are really trying, and if it's the kitchen or management well that's not the waiter's fault so I keep it in mind. But come on people I've been in with a table of six during lunch rush and you guys were doing great I come in with the family and it a whole different restaurant...it can be the same waitress different day different attitudes. It happens. But just not with us and not any more. I can forgive subpar food if the service is great, but not if both service and food are lacking. Last visit I just couldn't make it past the drinks with the rude waitress before I told the family to load up we were leaving. I hope the 3 guys at the bar gave her a great tip because she cut my mother off in the middle of her question about the menu change, to go talk to them. Yeah we are done with this place, sorry Applebees we tried...
Read moreWell folks I'm about to let yall know how terrible of an experience it was T Applebees's. The waitress was rude and seemed rude. Upon bring our drinks she spilled tea all over my sister in laws phine and keys. The waitress walked off quickly as though she didnt care and did not return for 20 minutes. That left my brother and I to clean up a mess at our table. Then we had to go get our own silverware to prepare to eat our meal when it arrived when the waitress finally returned. After another 35 minute wait we finally got our meals. Of course the meals were wrong as well. So at that time I got up went another waitress and asked for manager. After 5 minutes passed manager came out asked what was wrong and didnt know how to respond. At that time another lady came to our table telling us she would comp our meals and re make them. We got our meals which were not that tasty at all and we tried to make the best of the situation. Upon getting ready to leave we recieved a check for 41 dollars. The new waitress we recieved was good for a new hire. Really folks with an experience like this I wouldn't recommend Applebee's to anyone, not even my worst of people. So all in all Applebee's , you better step your game up at Tupelo, Ms restaurant or you may start to loose...
