I was super excited when I learned about a Bangali food truck opening 25 minutes from me. I went 3 separate times over a span of 3 weeks. I went by myself, with my friends, and lastly, with my family.

Pros: truck is very colorful and catchy good location with lots of parking and shade. stools provided to seat on just like Bangladesh offered free water one day when we were waiting in line comparable price to NY street food good quantity of food (but not all the time) cha is really good

Cons: picture of haleem on the truck but no haleem on the menu. apparently it’s only a winter item but it’s being advertised? no POS system. during the first visit an employee was roaming around with orders in his hand trying to find people. during another visit the orders were being written on pink sticky notes which were falling down. they were having a hard time reading each others hand writing which was slowing them down long wait time (1 hour in line and another 45 mins for food .. maybe it’s better now?) quality of food was different at different times. first visit the fuchka was soggy, second visit fuchka was stale, third visit fuchka was great because it was being freshly fried. I once went when someone ordered food for 15 people. Some plates got 2 handfuls of mango chaat while other plates got 3 handfuls. Me and the person in front of me had to remind the employee 3 times for cha after waiting 45 mins. all the items need more cilantro and green chilis (or offer different spice levels?)

As a FEE-FOR-SERVICE food truck you can’t assume you are doing a “favor” to the community because you aren’t feeding the homeless for free - you are taking money to...

I’ve been coming here since the day this place opened, and it’s become almost like a ritual .we visit about twice a week. We even drive 45 minutes all the way from Laurel, Maryland to Tyson’s VA just to enjoy their food. My American husband wasn’t really into Bengali street food before, but after his first visit here, he became a big fan. His absolute favorite is their doi fuchka, but honestly, everything we’ve tried has been really good and never disappointing. The service is also worth mentioning. The guy at the front is super kind, humble, and friendly he really makes you feel welcome. Our top favorites are their cha, doi fuchka, jhalmuri, and mango chaat. The bhelpuri was okay, but still decent. Recently, we brought along our family and cousins. They really loved and enjoyed their food. I and they had a special weekend item Shahi Jhalmuri which was absolutely amazing. Overall, we love everything they serve, but their cha is unbeatable ,easily the best. Also the area and the environment is really nice . Open space . Very peaceful and nice friendly neighborhood. Back in the day, I used to travel all the way to NYC just for good fuchka, and now it feels wonderful to finally have that same authentic taste right here in the DMV area....

A Taste of Dhaka in Virginia: Street Food That Hits Home Finding authentic Dhaka-style street food outside of Bangladesh is a rare treat, but in Virginia, a few hidden gems are bringing the bold, nostalgic flavors of Dhaka straight to the heart of the USA. From the moment you walk into these small eateries or food trucks, you’re welcomed by the familiar aroma of sizzling spices and slow-cooked curries. The fuchka (pani puri), served crisp and bursting with tamarind water, mashed potatoes, and green chilies, tastes just like it does on the streets of Dhanmondi or Chawkbazar. Each bite brings a mix of spice, crunch, and tanginess that instantly takes you back. What’s truly impressive is the attention to authenticity while maintaining cleanliness and quality. It’s evident these spots are run by people who take pride in sharing their culinary roots. If you’re a Bangladeshi missing the taste of home, or just someone curious about Dhaka’s street food culture, Virginia surprisingly delivers. These local gems are more than just food – they’re a bite of nostalgia and a celebration of tradition.

Horrible service and horrible food! Puts Dhaka street food to shame. I do not recommend this place to anybody. It took over an hour to receive the food, the customer service looked frantic and very disorganized. We got a glimpse of the back and it was very messy and dirty. I saw them also using Walmart brand water and ingredients- which can already give you an idea of how the food will turn out. The staff are unclean and lack basic hygiene and sanitation. I have no idea how they passed their food inspection. The fhuska was disgusting- barely any filling and the toppings looked like it was rushed on and didn’t even land in the fhuska shells. And no cilantro or chilis with the fhuska?? It was a huge disappointment. Bhelpuri was so tough and lacked flavor- just put the same filling of fhuska on to hard nimki. Mango lassi takes like a failed American mango smoothie. Somosas- just no. Overpriced and not worth it at all. Visit any other south Asian establishment and you will guarantee get better food. Also $1.50 for a small sample of cha… yeah no thanks.
