Avoid this place at all costs. I had an engagement ring made by Tyson’s Watch and Jewelry Exchange fall of last year. Let me start off by saying that from the start the service was sub-par at best. I worked with Karen Sevener to design my ring and from the start she was almost impossible to get a hold of. After months of calling and emailing We finally finalized everything and the ring was made. The only reason I stuck with them throughout this process because the price was cheaper than I had found anywhere else. I put down a deposit on the ring of over $4,000 and planned on paying the rest off down the road a bit. The relationship ended up not working out so I contacted Karen and explained the situation to her. She told me they were going to sell the ring and try and get most, if not all of my money back for me. I understood that there was a chance I would take a small loss on this ring and I was okay with that, just the cost of doing business. In late February I called Karen and told her I would be moving from the area about 8 hours away and was concerned about getting my money back. It had been about 3 months since Karen said she was going to try and sell the ring and I had gotten zero updates on how things were going. Karen assured me that they were doing their best and I would be updated on a regular basis. Now over 5 months later, Karen is MIA. I have probably called on average 2 times a week for the past 4 months trying to get ahold Karen and it’s always the same response “Karen is busy with a customer and she will call you back”. I leave a message with my name and number every single time but she never calls me back. I have even spoken to the manager Steven twice and each time he is unwilling to help me out and assures me that he will have Karen call me back. This has been by far the worst customer service experience I ever experienced my entire life. I am now in a situation where Tyson’s Watch and Jewelry Exchange has over $4,000 of my money, the ring, and I live over 8 hours away. I’m assuming at some point I’m going to have to get an attorney involved in this situation which could likely cost me a lot of time and more money than I currently have in the ring but some things are worth the price. Read moreI’d stay definitely away from this place. I brought in a watch in mid November which was valued at $7k and $9k for consignment. Because it was close to Christmas I gave it a shot and put it for consignment. I specifically asked the seller named Sanaz whether the $7k offer would still be valid if my watch does not get sold in consignment by Christmas and she assured me that it would still be valid and even wrote it down on a paper. She explained that they reevaluate the prices every 3-6 months (she was vague) but she said the value of my watch should still stay the same by Christmas. When I returned back after Christmas, she offered me only $4k saying that her offer was valid for only 2 weeks. I was in complete shock. They pretty much lied to me and argued that I was the one who misunderstood things. I am pretty sure I did not misunderstand anything as I specifically asked about how long the offer was valid for. I then spoke with her manager who is a “Karen”, who said “she would never say such thing” and that their offers were valid for 24 hours actually. Here it was obvious that the seller was either unknowledgeable about the timelines and/or a very dishonest person. The manager literally laughed and made fun of me in the store. These people completely forgot about the “customer is always right” philosophy. They could have just offered a sincere apology and would have been the end of it but instead they kept calling me a liar. I was relying on the money that day to make some payments and they really don’t understand how they put people in difficult situations. There is no professionalism or understanding of good customer service. I am only giving it 2 stars as the original person that I spoke to named Jerry was actually a nice person which makes me think my experience could potentially have been better if I went with a different seller.
