I was traveling on Memorial Day weekend during the COVID-19 crisis, and finding food to eat was a bit challenging. I therefore made it a habit to order from McDonald’s using the restaurant’s app. Doing so had been relatively inexpensive and convenient, and my orders were always efficiently processed. However, I can only take so much fast food, so after I checked in to my hotel in Ukiah, California, I downloaded the Applebee’s app and treated myself to a Bourbon Street Steak with garlic mashed potatoes. I added on a Caesar salad for $2.99. Unfortunately, after picking my order up and returning to my hotel, I discovered my mashed potatoes were missing. I guess my positive experiences ordering online from McDonald’s has led me to believe it is unnecessary to check my orders, especially when they include only a few items.
After calling the restaurant and speaking to someone that I believed to be a manager, I was told that they thought the salad was a substitution for the mashed potatoes (even though the app does not offer the salad as a “different side” AND it was listed on the receipt as a charged add-on). The only solution the manager could offer was for me to return to the restaurant and allow him to make it right. He said he was unable to do anything else in my absence, such as credit my card the $2.99 that should not have been charged for the salad if it was just a substitution. Needless to say, I took the loss because I did not want to go to the trouble to return to the restaurant and leave my meal to get cold. Furthermore, doing so on another day would be impossible since I was just passing through Ukiah; my hometown is hundreds of miles away.
I’m sure there are other, better online ordering options, even during the current crisis, so I do not foresee using the Applebee’s app to get food anytime soon. I also recommend you consider other options if you plan to use it in Ukiah...
Read moreThis will be my first review ever and hopefully last. I work in the restaurant business, so I understand everything that goes on in the front/back of the house. That being said, I can't believe a place as awful as this has brought me to a state to where I have to leave a review. It's my own d* fault...I mean it is Applebee's. First off, I am the only one sitting at the bar on a Saturday night (7:45pm) and it takes ten minutes for the house cocktail to touch my hands. The bartender did not know the recipe at all, and I know for a fact the service well wasn't busy. Though the drink was delicious, I could tell this was not going to end well. I place my order for a chicken salad. Ten minutes later, a gentleman walks in and sits right next to me. He orders an app salad and a steak entree. This gentlemen, at no fault of his own, chows down his app salad and steak entree before I even see my plate. My frustration begins to get to me. The bartender acknowledges the problem without me even letting her know (that's a positive) and informs her kitchen staff and manager. The manager does nothing (shame on you). At last, I finally get my salad. This salad, however, was not the one I ordered. It was missing multiple ingredients that were listed on the menu. I barely eat any of it, pay for the meal out of disgust, and leave. As I said before, I understand the business, and I'm not the type to cause a scene. But my word was this place a s* show. New management is definitely needed. This Applebee's in Ukiah, California is disgusting. But once again, it's my own d* fault. I mean it is Applebee's. Dined on...
Read moreMy an I had a horrible experience. Two of our appetizers were served cold, because eating cold boneless wings and mozzarella sticks are just so tasty. My 12 oz. Steak was more like 6 oz. of fat and had no flavor, besides being cooked wrong. The garlic green beans were soggy, the mac and cheese wasn't even mixed together, and bacon bits out of a jar are not chopped applewood smoked bacon. My wife's steak being rare, when asked for we'll done, and the shrimp on top smelled so fishy as if they were sitting on a counter for hours. Suffice to say we will never be coming back, and I will advise everyone I know to never eat it there. The best part of the meal was my beer that I ordered which I ended up getting the wrong one. My wife ordered a strawberry kiwi perfect margarita, and received a melon flavored one. I don't care how nice your staff is, if you cannot deliver what has been ordered then what is the point of being in business. Thank you again for reaffirming why Applebees of Ukiah is a horrible, disgusting, and waste of time to get a...
