La Canasta — Restaurant in Union City

We used to go to this restaurant alot before and after the pandemic. We went today and the service was the worst I have ever experienced. We were practically telling the waiters to get us utensils and to take our order. The waiter was hurrying us up. I felt like she didn't want to attend us.. It was just uncomfortable place. The waiters before were always smiling and friendlier. I am sorry to say but my family and I will stop going to this place. No more family gatherings or recommending their food. Ridiculous and rude how the Peruvian owner disrespected my mom! We didn't want to leave tip because that's how bad the service was!!! I was shocked after years of going there with family. I don't recommend this place. If you want real Peruvian food go to LA Chata in a great place by Woodland Park. That's good service and real authentic...

Today I went to eat in this restaurant ... with my friend ..I usually go there ..but today my friend order the chicken soup ...and as we eating , she found in her soup a cockroach ...and I told the older lady . about it ..and descustenly she took a napkin and grab the bug ,by then I got so sick of my stomach ..that I rushed to the bathroom and I vomited so much that tears came out of my eyes ,then I went to ask for some tissue ,to wipe my tears ..and they give me one tissue ..and the older lady goes to me ...you could pay there ...I look at her and said "really" you want me to pay for something so descusting ,that got me sick? You have to be joking ,,I say real loud for everyone to ear ...that I found a cockroach in the soup ...and walk out .. don't go to...

No vale la pena. No tienen pollo a la brasa original. Un pollo Que Uno consigue en ShopRite es lo Que sirven. Y encima contaron 27 dolares!!!! En Passaic el pollo auntentico estaba 22 y es delicioso! A la brasa!! I wish I read the reviews before going there. Do not go there for pollo a la brasa. They have rotisserie chicken for 27 dollars!!!! I can get the same chicken quality at shop rite. Smh Second. I stopped by a Sunday and I asked what’s is for menu and the lady pointed me to the wall so I ordered. After I paid she said soup is not included. I said I didn’t want I and they didn’t want to refund the money as if I should have known better that weekends soup is not included. How would I know if this is my first time...
