Tried them out for the first time today and I was highly disappointed. When I first placed my order I asked for a side of chili oil and silverware and when the food came neither of them had been with it. So I asked her again nicely if she could get some for me and she seemed very annoyed and snorted at me, but nonetheless she did get them. Then unfortunately my boyfriend realized he forgot to ask for soy sauce so when she came back with my two things he asked for soy sauce she laughed at him in a nasty way and said” next time if you need anything make sure you tell me when you place the order so I don’t have to run around”(which again my two things I did ask for when we ordered ).She made us both feel really stupid for asking for things which I would’ve gladly gotten them myself if I was allowed because that would have been better than having to deal with our waitress. Also we were two of the four other people that were in the restaurant so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal that we asked her.. Later on we felt weird when I needed a box for my food so my boyfriend asked her if it was OK if we could ask her question and she said of course but she said it in a very sarcastic way and again laughed at us so safe to say we are never going to go back here even though I did enjoy my food. I did leave with a bad taste...

We got lucky and found Forever on Google for lunch after shopping in KOP. We went in after checking reviews here, so wanted to give back. The restaurant on the inside is much better than the strip mall store front on the outside. The food is delicious! I'm ethnic Chinese, and the cooking is authentic based on our home cooking and growing up around NYC. Funny, they have a menu section called Americanized Chinese Dishes. I like it, call it as it is. Nothing wrong with Americanized dishes, I'm American and it's what I cook. It's spacious inside and the décor is very nice. Our service was great. The server warned us against our first selection as it might be fattier than we like and she was right, so we picked another dish. The food came really quick. The soup was perfect on a cold rainy day, the sautéed baby bok choi is outstanding, (we will go back just for that), the braised beef was melt in your mouth. Anyway, highly recommended, we wish it was closer to us so we can go often, but we'll make the trip when we can. Sorry for the lame picture, didn't think to take one until we were half way done eating. And didn't want to stop eating too long. :) We think the current ownership is more recent, but couldn't find online when they...

What I'm about to share about my experience is so crazy you are going to to think I'm making it up, but I have photos. After having a generally great time and truly enjoying the food, about halfway through our meal, I took a sip of my water and then looked down to see a roach floating in it. I have never been so disgusted in a restaurant in my life. And if you think it's possible that things can't get worse than that, they can - because the restaurant absolutely could not have cared less. I very calmly and discreetly brought the issue to the attention of the person at the front desk, and explained that not only was I not going to be eating anything else at the restaurant, but everyone else's glass at the table had been filled from the same pitcher, and so the waters needed to be refreshed. Not a single person from management came to the table, the waters were never refreshed, and not a single dollar was taken off the bill. I wasn't even paying as it was my birthday dinner, but there is no way that my friends should have had to pay in full for this kind of experience. My advice is to stay far away from this place - if this is how they handled things tonight, I can only imagine what is going on...

A little different from the "usual suspects." Any aficionado of Szechuan cuisine has doubtless been to several Han Dynasty stores, a couple of Dan Dan's and maybe D. J. Kitchen, etc. This place (formerly Pin Wei) is a bit off the beaten path. More elegant than average. Definitely in the league of the best examples, they have some minor twists on some of the usual dishes. Dan Dan noodles were sturdy and al dente, but if peanut and sesame oil were in the sauce, they were subtle. Reasonably priced, and a perfect size to split as an appetizer as the entrées were HUGE. Hot sauce beef came out WAY too hot to dig in, but once it cooled was well-seasoned and not overly-salted (as many others do.) Addictively spicy but not overwhelming. Chicken with dry peppers was another huge portion of tiny, deep fried chicken pieces, surrounded by dry hots, fresh garlic slices, scallions and crushed peanuts. Szechuan peppercorns were present in both entrées providing the numbing "mala" too often missing from otherwise authentic places. Our server (and older woman) was attentive and charming. Whoever complained about the service here likely brought it upon themselves. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth a shot.

Quality consistently good in the 6+ years we’ve been coming here, for birthdays and Chinese New Year’s feast. Fresh ingredients, skillful cutting and authentic cooking. What really sets this place apart is how relaxing it is. Several factors. Tasteful music that doesn’t trigger human fight-or-flight response; soft and warm lighting; ink brush calligraphy scrolls and embroidery artwork; attentive but non-intrusive service; spacious seating. Today (June 15, 2023) we came to celebrate our son’s graduation from middle school. The cumin crisp fish was sooo good. July 22, 2023 update. After hearing our order, the waitress suggested moving us to a bigger table, lol. So attentive. We tried the tea smoked duck, which was out of stock last time. It blew us away! We also had the best sweet patota pie with plum syrup. Crispy outer layer gives way to tender and chewy heart. So satisfying this is our farewell dinner, as we move to Germany. We’ll explore and see if any restaurant over there comes close to the wholesome experience that Forever has been giving us.
