Arby's — Restaurant in Vandalia

Deserves LESS than a 1. The service is atrocious. I work almost next door and used to go regularly. Around a year ago I placed an order at the counter to go. After waiting 5 minutes or so the people that had placed orders after me were getting served. I let a few more get their orders then asked where mine was. They couldn't find it! I handed them the receipt and said here it is. Still couldn't find it. Told them to just give me my money back. I continued to go because I figured it was a one time thing. A few months later the exact same thing happened. I vowed never to go back. Today, 6 or 7 months later I decided to go back, around 1:00 pm. Drive thru had 6 or 7 cars. 4 people inside waiting on orders. No one waiting at the counter. I stood at the counter while the staff served a few customers. Stood some more while they served a few more. Stood. Stood. Waited. Not once was my presence acknowledged. I was looked at but never spoke to.! Not once did anyone say "we'll be right with you!" "We'll be with you in just a minute!" I understand busy. I run a retail business. One of the first things you are (or should be) taught is to ACKNOWLEDGE THE CUSTOMER! Say "Hi!" Or "Be right with you!" Say SOMETHING. Put a smile on your face and at least pretend to care! You don't get that at the Vandalia location from my experience. Three...

In my opinion, this establishment deserves ZERO stars…

was sitting in the drive thru line waiting on food when I see a kid on a bike roll up behind me and knock on the window. He then proceeds to knock on the locked door and someone walks up and let’s him in. Clearly the inside is locked, and it’s only 8:45. I’ve been waiting for 10 minutes, and people behind me have been given their food. I can see kids goofing off inside, but alas. No food. When they do bring out my food 15 minutes later, they forgot my sodas. Then they only bring one out saying “they didn’t have me down for another soda” when I ordered 2 combos and the cat taking my order asked for the soda order twice. They wouldn’t give me the second soda without paying for it again. Did I mention he dropped my card and receipt, so I didn’t have that to prove I had already paid. This place is ridiculous.

Just got home and the fries weren’t in the bag. I paid nearly $20 for a chicken tender meal and 1 order of chicken nuggets. That’s on me though for not checking...

UPDATE: Figured I would give Arby's a try again, so I went through the drive thru. "What can I make fresh for you?" is what they ask. I get super cold curly fries and a mostly cold chicken sandwich. The kid at the window is nice buy indifferent. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR SLOGAN, BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY DO NOT MAKE ANY OF YOUR FOOD FRESH FOR PEOPLE. COMPLETE GARBAGE. AND THE ONLY REASON I WENT THERE IS BECAUSE THE OTHER CHOICE WAS CLOSED. I'LL TRY AGAIN IN ANOTHER YEAR.

Ordered curly fries and 2 cups of cheddar and returned home with it 2 minutes later. The cheddar was a combination of brown and yellow, clearly it had gone bad. Whomever squirted it into the cups had to see this spoiled fluid coming out. I had to wait because they said they were waiting on fresh fries. Complete fail. Thanks Arby's. Had not been there in a year because of this exact type of thing. Looks like it will be...
