I've lived in Ventura for most of my life, and enjoyed food here many times - something has changed. The salsa is just... bad. I ordered the special, a wet burrito, and the salsa just ruined it. It almost tastes like they burnt the peppers rather than roasting them. My food was served on a paper plate that, within 5 minutes, was falling apart. The salsa totally saturated the plate so I got another to put underneath it. While eating, I realized pieces of the first plate were so soggy, they were mixing in with my food. When my partner and I ordered, we were very clear that they cannot have dairy and the person taking the order clearly understood and wrote that on the order. We got our food and there was a big hunk of cheese on my partner's plate. I took it back and reiterated that they can't eat it due to an allergy. We got the plate back minutes later and the rest of the food was cold. They didn't remake it, they scraped the cheese off and gave it back. Cross-contamination, hello? I'm a little appalled at this experience, I won't be eating here again....

The absolute WORST service I have ever experienced. I’d like to give this place 5 stars because the food is delicious, but after my latest experiences here I will probably never support this local business. Every Saturday and Sunday there is brunch from opening until 12pm. By word of mouth, I have heard that the cashier is supposed to wait until the line has mellowed down before closing down the brunch menu. Unfortunately that is not the case and seems that whoever is running the place does not care about customer satisfaction. I was in line before 12 pm and has been in line for a good 10-15 minutes. I was the next in line and when it came time to order at 12:02 pm the cashier denied my request and said they stopped serving brunch at 12pm. It was 2 minutes past their brunch time and I had been standing in line prior to the cut off time. This was truly disappointing and makes me never want to support them again. I have shared this exact incident with a prior employee of this establishment and she was saddened to hear how awful things...

Cashier was sooo slow. No joke, looked at a$100 bill for a minute and a half. I understand that he is taking his job seriously, and protecting the company. But it was a brand new hundred (the one that is nearly impossible to counterfeit). They need a manager (or someone over the age of 18) to be their to check quickly for him.

I'm pretty sure they went to the pier and caught a fish for each individual order! This practice would be great if they caught a bunch of fish in the morning, and then used them throughout the day. But no, they wait for the order to come in and THEN they catch a fish. The service was sooo slow!

All that for food that was... Ehhh shoulder shrug at best. Ahi taco... They must get cheap Ahi, or a cheap chef, because they soak it in soy sauce, I assume to mask the taste of cheap.

On the plus side... The hibiscus water was very good, and worth the $1 refill price!

Now how do I rate the public parking garage attendant from down the street... I have a FEW things to say about...

To tell the truth, probably one of the worst fish tacos ever. Double cold tortillas. Some sort sauce that just makes a mess, and covers up any of what fish was in it. The fish, what little there was of it, had a crispy batter that was probably good until the bucket of sauce drown it. The fish could've been a premium fish, but without knowing for sure I'd hate to speculate if it was even a Saltwater species. Definitely not worth anywhere near $4.50 ea. Dirty sticky tables. Pigeons are everywhere. I usually don't go out of my way to make such a poor review, but $9.00 for 2 lousy tacos was something you might want to think about before standing in line for 15 to 20 minutes.

If you’re in Ventura, Beach House Tacos is the spot to hit. It’s right on the pier with killer views and a relaxed vibe. The tacos are tasty, the prices are fair, and it’s the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the ocean.

Great little taco shack on the Ventura Pier adjacent to the Beach House Fish restaurant. Beach House Tacos has ample covered patio seating as well as additional picnic tables that are not covered. Dogs are allowed in the covered patio area. There's almost always a line, so be patient. The food is delicious and portions generous. I had the ahi taco and grilled fish Baja taco with a spicy chipotle crema. Both came with generous fish, cabbage, sauce and two corn tortillas. Also, everything is made to order. And they validate parking so your first two hours are free! Tasty food, nice setting, highly recommended!
