Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in Ventura

There isn't enough space in a post like this to convey what a great place this is. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, which is a direct result of the attitude displayed by staff and their management. I've been coming in almost daily for 2 or 3 months - I do freelance software development and I find it's easier to work in a happy environment over being isolated at home. Peet's has Wi-Fi and power available, something a lot of other places have done away with.

I'm also a people-watcher, and I have close friends in the homeless community. Many businesses discourage having homeless folks come in, fearing a bad image, or a messy restroom, etc. Peet's is different this way.

I've seen unhoused individuals sit down, charge their devices, use the bathroom, etc. And I've rarely seen a time when this has led to a bad outcome. It's refreshing to see some tolerance and human kindness towards those less fortunate. Peet's is an example of how a community can help solve this epidemic of unsheltered citizens, just by simple kindness. If more business owners had the attitude of kindness displayed at Peet's, perhaps the community at large would come together...

Today I went on my work break to pick up a mobile order (Horchata CB) around 10:00AM and the employee on bar was going above and beyond to accommodate everyone and making sure people were waiting as little as possible. Judging but all the customers in the lobby, she was BUSY. To top it all off she unfortunately had a disgruntled ‘Karen’ who was upset she kept changing her order and her drink wouldn’t remain the same (?). She returned her drink and asked for a SPLASH of milk in her coffee and got the drink remade with a literally splash which wasn’t good enough for her. The barista had every reason to be upset but she seemed to stay calm and continued with her workflow.
