Consistently cold, stale fries. Basically everything is stale and dried out. I don't think I've received fresh food in over a year from this place. I didn't even realize how truly terrible it's gotten till I stopped by a different McDonald's while traveling, and everything was piping hot and fresh. Really proved to me just how bad our local place has gotten. When I worked here as a teen, there were strick rules about cooking up fresh fries and burgers. I know how their system works. The food I've received from here would have to sit in the warming trays for literal HOURS (4-5) to dry out this badly. Which is a massive health code violation, as the absolute longest you can keep anything in the trays is 60 minutes. And there are timers built into these trays to alert staff when food needs thrown out, so it's not a simple mistake. They are actively resetting the timers and serving the old food (that legally should be in the trash) to ppl.
The fries being stale is also inexcusable. You're supposed to drop fresh fries every 20-30 minutes, and throw out the old ones. If you do that, they're never stale. Which means if you got stale fries from this place (which based on other reviews happens all the time), they're more than 30 minutes old. Being busy isn't an excuse, making fresh fries literally takes 3 minutes. That's it! 3 minutes! But they likely make a massive batch, so they just sit there until they're all used up before making more. Even at our busiest when I worked there we were NEVER permitted to drop more than 3 baskets at a time (that's roughly 6 lg worth), so management could ensure they were always fresh.
This is clearly a case of the kitchen staff cooking everything in bulk all at once so they have less work to do later. Most likely with the goal of having shorter wait times. Which isn't how it's supposed to be. They should be cooking much smaller batches more frequently so the food is fresh, and throwing out food when it's over the allotted time. Food safety and quality should NEVER take a back seat to speed.
Maybe if they paid well enough to hire some adults, it would improve. But ever since it was bought out by a new owner, the business model seems to be doing the absolute bare minimum, paying the absolute bare minimum, ignoring the customers valid complaints, and charging ppl the maximum amount they can get away with. All for terrible food that LEGALLY shouldn't even be served.
In short, DO NOT EAT HERE. The food isn't safe. Flavor aside, the old product they serve is a food borne illness just waiting to happen. This was my last ditch effort to give them another chance. I'd rather eat gas station food than these hockey pucks they call "McNuggets". Waste of...
Read moreI placed an order on the McDonald’s app for this restaurant. My order number was 1605 which I gave to the employee to get my food. They told me they didn’t have that number in our system. I told them that I had it pulled up on the app and that I could show it to them if they needed to see it. She declined to see what was on my phone and wouldn’t even let me pull up to the window to show her. She told me they didn’t have it and that there was nothing they could do about it. I asked her to please talk to her manager. She said she would. Less than 20 seconds later, she came back and said we don’t have that order. I checked the location to make sure I had ordered the at the right spot and confirmed I was at the right restaurant. She again refused to help me. She didn’t even ask what was on my order. She simply said they didn’t have it. I asked how I was supposed to get my money back then and she said she didn’t know. She said that I would receive a refund after a certain amount of time if the order didn’t go through. I went into the app and tried to cancel my order, but my order was showing that it was still being prepared by the restaurant. It would let me cancel. Again, she didn’t bother to look at my phone or even ask what was on my order. I left very frustrated not able to cancel my order and McDonald’s keeping my money. I won’t eat at this restaurant again. Very disappointing. Not sure why they wouldn’t even take the time to look at my phone. They push using the app so much and yet when I use it and something goes wrong, they don’t wanna help and simply just turn me away. The transaction posted on my bank account shortly after that. Now I’m going to have to go through the hassle of having my bank reverse the credit card transaction just to get my money back....
Read moreOK, normally I’d just say “hey, it’s McDonalds, what do you expect? It’s not the Ritz”. So here’s what I expect: I expect that when I go into a McDonalds, arguably “THE” fast food place to get a quick bite, that I’d be able to do just that. Get a “fast bite”. Not the McDonalds in Vernal, UT. My friend and I had just rolled in from Southern Colorado. It was 97 degrees out. We were hot, tired, and hungry. He ordered a McDouble, fries and a drink. I ordered a small fry and a cone, right at the same time. The entire place was pandemonium. With workers outnumbering patrons, it seemed as though it was “the first day” for everyone who was behind the counter. One woman dominating the ice cream machine and accomplishing nothing, shouting orders to the others who seemed to be either at a party in their own minds, or completely clueless as to their part in the whole scheme of things. Lots of commotion, noise and nothing happening. My friend finally got his food, slowly ate it, all while I and everyone else in the place waited. After about 30 minutes I walked up to the cashier and asked for my money back. They politely complied and apologized. I left and was thankful that this did not represent most McDonalds restaurants across the country. If I were the owner of that one, I’d fire every single staff member in attendance that evening and start afresh. Worst service I’ve ever, ever experienced at a...
