Fishack in Vero Beach: Unforgettable Fish Sandwich & Top-Tier Fries! Fishack isn't your average seafood joint. It's got a fun, casual island vibe with colorful decor that makes you feel like you're on vacation. The service was excellent, and the bar seating was comfy (though the chairs could be a tad higher). But let's get to the main course: the Shack-wich Fish Sandwich. This wasn't just any fish sandwich, it was a revelation! A huge portion of perfectly cooked fish with melted cheese, crisp coleslaw, and fresh fries piled high on a toasted kaiser roll. And that's not all - they even threw in extra fries as a side, along with coleslaw and tartar sauce for good measure. Every bite was hot, fresh, crispy, and bursting with flavor. This was, hands down, the best fish sandwich in Vero Beach, and frankly, the best fish sandwich I've ever had, and definitely the best in Vero Beach. You will never want a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish again! And speaking of the best, their fries deserve a special shout-out. Seasoned with Old Bay, they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - a true testament to Fishack's fry chef. Likely the best Fries in Vero Beach. If you're looking for amazing seafood in Vero Beach, look no further than Fishack. It's a must-go for anyone craving fresh, flavorful food in a fun atmosphere! Best seafood in Vero Beach.

I was in the town of Vero Beach doing some business while I was there. I looked up a seafood restaurant nearby and found this local place. I was excited to try seafood at a local restaurant, and Fishack looked like an awesome place to eat . I arrived around 4 pm, and the place was empty. I ordered the special of the day, which was fried grouper and fries " fish n chips" , with a Piña Colada , the dish came with a side of coleslaw and french fries with ol'bay seasoning. The grouper was completely bland, and the fries were decent , with a hint of seasoning and crispy. The side of coleslaw was very, very small , not bigger than a large dipping sauce container. The Piña Colada wasn't blended enough , I could taste the mixture and ice separately. The decore was your typical beach vibe decore with sea life pictures and beer signs all over , a bit outdated. The waitress was nice and attentive and very polite. I hope they improve the food quality so they can stay in business for a long time.

Actual rating is 3.7 and not definitive as I would like to return and dine in. Ordered the oyster po'boy and the fish and chips. Parking right in front of location is limited to a few spots but there is public parking right a cross the street if needed. The place is small but has a comfortable feel to it. They have a bar, patio seating out back, and table inside. Prices are not too bad. The fish and chips: battered was more of a casing. The fish would slip out and/or batter would just fall apart. Def too much air inside creating the pocket and not adhering to the fish itself. The fish though was very fresh, good flavor, and was not skimpy at all. Fries were basic. Oyster po'boy: huge sandwich loaded with a decent amount of fried oysters. These were vary flavorful and cooked perfectly, not too much not too little. The coleslaw was amazing, such great fresh flavor. Fries a little too basic and greasy. Overall I would return as mentioned before to try out other items on menu.

THESE "PEOPLE" AGREED TO ALLOW THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION HOLD THEIR YEARLY LOCKUP FOR MDA IN THEIR RESTAURANT ON DECEMBER 10TH ON DECEMBER 8TH PARTICIPANTS WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FISH SHACK IN VERO BEACH ON OLD DIXIE HWY. PULLED THEIR OFFER TO HOST THE EVENT LEAVING MDA WITH NOWHERE TO BRING THE "PRISONERS" WHO HAD PUSHED ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DONATE TOWARDS THEIR "BAIL" . I HAD TO MAKE A DOZEN CALLS TO PEOPLE THAT WERE GOING TO STOP BY TO DROP OFF DONATIONS.I THINK THIS CALLS FOR A BOYCOTT. HOW DARE THEY AGREE TO HOST A CHARITY FUNCTION THEN CANCEL WITH NOT ENOUGH NOTICE FOR THEM TO FIND ANOTHER VENUE. THIS IS A DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF ANTI HOLIDAY SPIRIT. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO TO THIS BUSINESS BECAUSE OF THIS DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF THE WORSHIP OF THE DOLLAR. SINCE WHEN DOES GIVING A CHARITY YOUR WORD, TAKING ALL THE FREE ADVERTISING DONE BY MDA IN ALL OF THE CORRESPONDENCE AND ADVERTISING OF THE EVENT, THEN BREAKING YOUR COMMITMENT TOTALLY DESTROYING AN EVENT THAT HAS GONE ON EACH YEAR DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON FOR QUITE A WHILE. SHAME ON YOU THE MANAGEMENT AND OR OWNERS OF THE FISH SHACK, REMEMBER KARMA IS A $ITCH, AND I WILL PERSONALLY MAKE SURE THAT EVERY PERSON I KNOW HEARS ABOUT YOUR GREEDY, AND DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF ANTI-CHARITY. I HOPE THE MONEY YOU MAKE FOR BREAKING YOUR WORD TO MDA AND RENTING THE SPACE YOU PROMISED THEM IS MORE THAN YOU WILL LOSE FROM ALL THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS, AND ALL THEIR EMPLOYEES, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY THAT WILL NEVER AGAIN STEP FOOT IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. I KNOW THAT THE AVERAGE CHECK WHEN WE WOULD DINE THERE WAS ALWAYS BETWEEN 2 AND 3 HUNDRED BUCKS A VISIT. I WOULD WISH YOU GOOD LUCK, BUT MY WORD HAS VALUE...

Went there for lunch for the first time last month. My friends took me there for my birthday. I had New England clam chowder- the texture, taste and consistency was very good actually as good as cape cod. The only critique I will give is the clams were not as tender as I would have liked and a little chewy not bad that I couldn’t eat it but I’m from cape cod where I’m used to very tender clams in my chowder. I ordered the encrusted scallops. I was delightfully surprised at how good they were. They were medium calico scallops which I absolutely LOVE , and they’re hard to find, actually only one restaurant on cape cod has them, as I don’t like huge big sea scallops, they were tender, cooked to perfection (not undercooked) with a white sauce, the sautéed veggies were tasty and done to perfection and I was surprised I liked the rice as it looked like Cajun rice but it wasn’t, the texture of the rice was soft not hard and it wasn’t spicy at all as I don’t like spicy food. I plan on...
