UPDATE 3/27/2024 My daughter and I arrived for dinner around 9:00 p.m. My daughter ordered lobster with a baked potato and steamed broccoli and I ordered grilled rock fish with rice and mixed vegetables. It is very important that whoever manages this place understands that we called attention to all of the issues with the food and the lady that showed up to answer our inquiries was very much in denial over what we were trying to explain to her and what we were showing her that was clearly wrong with the food. The lobster was a female and clearly had eggs and we were told this was her intestines which is absolutely not the case however this was not even the worst problem the lobster was overcooked and we're not sure what exactly was wrong with the meat itself but the texture was very bizarre to the point where my daughter was not able to swallow the meat. She had to spit it out. She tried really hard to swallow it and it wouldn't go down, even dipped in butter. The mixed vegetables were shriveled up and dehydrated as if they had been microwaved multiple times and the steamed broccoli was very smooshy with weird white splotches that smashed when you touched them. The baked potato was presented in a bowl with about an inch and a half of melted butter in the bowl and the potato itself was completely underneath the butter. And the final straw was the rockfish being so hard that I stabbed it with my fork and lifted it off the plate to show the lady manager and it stayed in one big flat piece like a flip flop. It may have been an off night but something needs to be done about the female lobster. I wish I took photos. Our server was very sweet and did her best. I've only been here three times and all three experiences were okay. The food is good with the exception of this last time our baked potatoes were hard but other than that the food is prepared well and is as described in the menu. The service is okay. Our waitress was nice however I had to get up many times to flag somebody down for items that we needed such as butter for the biscuits. They were things that normally should have been brought and I'm not sure if she was doing things in the kitchen or somewhere else in the building that I wasn't aware of but she was disappearing all the time and the restaurant was basically empty I believe they were two other tables in there when we were there. I gave four stars instead of three because the food is good and if you're looking for that type of food such as lobster and shrimp this is a good place to go the prices are not to outrageous and up here in the high desert there's not really many places you can go and get a dinner with grilled seafood and pasta. Most of the restaurants up in the high desert that have seafood have a lot of fries stuff there's a lot of places that microwave things which is kind of gross so this particular Red lobster does have a good chef. I think that they could work on their customer service for example there were three employees standing at the podium in the entryway of the restaurant talking and giggling and laughing and just sort of hanging out the entire hour that I was in there having dinner with my daughter. They're the ones that I had to keep asking for the items that we needed for our meal because I couldn't find my waitress so I guess in a way it was good that they were standing there I didn't have to go far to find an employee but it did seem very odd that they were just hanging out like that and not doing anything. So all in all four stars for the food but if I was reading it on the service I would have had to give it a three just for the lack of attention from staff. Our waitress was nice though I want to make that clear she was nice it wasn't that she was rude or impolite she was nice and our order was brought and it was correct so she did that good it's just that she was gone I mean the second she dropped something on the table she was just a ghost in the building and if I needed anything like I said I had to disturb the social club at...
Read moreWow, just wow! In all the best ways, wow! I have been to several Red Lobsters across the country. Today's experience literally brought tears of joy to my face.
It was about 5/5:30pm on a Sunday. The lobby was busy with a large party. We were a party of 2. While the staff put tables together for the larger group, we got seated by Louis who made quite a lovely conversation with me in the short period of time it took to get to our table. He even made a point to ask if we were here to celebrate anything (to which I responded yes, we are celebrating a much needed good day - * important for later *).
Chris, our server, wasted no time introducing himself, took our order accurately, and made great recommendations. He kept our drinks filled throughout the meal and made sure we didn't run out of the biscuits we were excited about. At the end, he asked if we wanted dessert, got us to-go containers and a let us rest at the table for a bit after we were finished.
Here is the part that just moved me so much to the point of tears, literally bawling to complete strangers in the middle of a busy restaurant while I explain the purest moment I have seen in a while. Mind you, I was minding my own business, but happened to look up at just the right time, and it all happened in about 2 seconds:
There were 2 gals enjoying their dinner diagnal from our booth. I add this in the most respectful way possible, one of the lovely ladies displayed what I can only assume is a greater need for assistance than average. I got to witness the most purest joy on her face as Amber, the regional manager- who I thought at the time to be a server, brought her a printed certificate of bravery for trying something new. The customer appeared to be verbal to a degree, but in this moment, no words were needed. No one in this moment could possibly have had trouble understanding the pride, validation, and happiness she was feeling in that moment. The squeal of innocent and unrestricted joy, the claps, and getting her picture taken, then also receiving a hand written note from her actual server Apryl was unmistakably rewarding.
I felt moved enough to let Aaron know how much of a gem Amber is. That is when I was told that they have come a few times and had been nervous about touching the lobsters. Nick informed me that I told the manager how well the regional manager had done, which made me smile. Amber and Aaron, you have a great crew at this location. Leaving a review about all the staff we encountered today felt right, so here I am typing a small novel.
The past few weeks and even months have been rough and this just restored my faith in humanity. There is still good out here and the smallest acts of kindness make a...
