Poke has been popular in the continental US for the last several years. 5-6 years ago seemed to be a major wave period of time when lots of poke places were opened. Same for Bowl Lab - they opened in July 2017. With the poke market seeming pretty saturated, finally I no longer see new poke places keep popping up. And although I thought many might go out of business, especially through the pandemic with many people still not returning to their offices and despite seeing most of them had little business volume, most poke places still remain open, at least for the 4-5 poke places near where I live. Bowl Lab is definitely one of the exceptions, they always remain very popular and offer a comparably more unique style of poke experience. We were there on a Friday evening around 7:30; there were a few groups dining outdoors and a few groups dining indoors (they close at 9pm). Their AC was reaaaally strong, the indoors was too cold for us so we decided to sit outdoors. The current prices for Poke Bowls are: - Regular $12.45 (2 scoops protein) - Large $14.45 (3 scoops protein) - X-Large $16.45 (4 scoops protein) We ordered the regular sized ones, but curious to know if we ordered a Large or X-Large one, is it just extra scoop of protein or does the base (salad or rice) also get upsized proportionally. The food ordering process was smooth. The employee was a bit quiet but friendly. We ordered the pre-set menu items so we didn’t have to make too many choices. They use an environmentally friendly cardboard-based bowl as a food container. The overall presentation was very good. And with their signature sauces zig-zag drizzled on the top, they mixed with all ingredients very well! I could see why this place is so popular compared to many other similar poke bar places. They have limited parking spaces in front of the restaurant and more in the garage behind the restaurant. By the time we were leaving around 8pm, while walking in the parking garage toward our car, a car pulled up next to us and the driver asked us if we knew where Bowl Lab was lol. This is how popular this place is. I’m glad we were there during a slow time so we didn’t have to wait in line to order or to get a table. Overall, we had a very good dining experience and will definitely return. Right now this is the brand’s only location. On their website, they indicate COMING SOON for: - Midtown, GA - Kennesaw, GA - Buckhead, GA - Sandy Springs, GA - Miami, FL - Charlotte, NC They didn’t provide a timeline on when other locations will open, but I’m hoping they truly will open soon so this exceptional poke experience can be enjoyed by more people!

I really like this place, I only have one gripe. Cute little spot tucked away in Vinings. I decided to go there for lunch after my pedicure. Everything is super fresh looking. Which is really important in a place like this. The sauces were really good. I really enjoyed what i got. The restaurant was very clean. A nice place for a healthy lunch. It can be very confusing to order. If you create your own dish and you add avocado it's an extra dollar. However if you get their veggie Bowl it comes with avocado. So even though I got everything that a normal veggie Bowl would have because it was a create your own and not the signature dish there was an upcharge. As a vegetarian the one thing I hate is getting nickeled and dimed for veggies. When I explained this to cashier she was less than accommodating. Her attitude made the experience less than pleasant hence the 3 stars. The customer might not always be right, but if you want them to be a repeat customer sometimes you have to bend a little.

I was in the area for a 2 day training and wanted something healthy and fresh. I found bowl lab. I read reviews and overall this place looked like something I wanted to try. I was hoping there were cooked options and there were. I tried the teriyaki salmon bowl. Delicious. I wanted one of the spicy bowls but didn't need my belly to be on fire for the rest of the training. If you get the teriyaki bowl, be advised they put extra teriyaki sauce on top so day 1 my lettuce was drenched in the sauce. I didnt know. So I asked for light sauce the next day. There were complaints about the attitudes of the workers. I didnt really get that. Were they overly, chick fil a friendly? No. But they were fine. I have had some bad service at places. This was not one of them. Wish it wasnt so far from my house. Id bring the whole family.

EDIT: if anyone is also coming here to complain about the terrible service of this place just know they are not the BEST poke bowl place in Marietta/Atlanta area there is literally a poke place at The Battery Atlanta that is equally if not better and so good and also there is one called the Poke Company by wellstar hospital Kennesaw area that is soooooo freaking good and had way more variety and better customer service at both, do not feel stuck with this place as I see that the manager does not care for anyone’s reviews and offers no consolidation for anyone’s bad experiences. Disgusting, don’t waste your hard earned money for these people until he finds some new workers and cares more about his or her restaurant.

Review: I am so mad, I went in here today at 6pm and the workers were so annoying and subliminally rude, I came in and waited in line and as I’m reading the menu I get asked what will I want and I respond letting her know that I came in before for a bowl that I was recommended by a worker and that she added her own twist to it and I really wanted that and I asked several times to let me read the menu while I figure it out, she did not care about what I had to say she asked me several times in a row as I read (rudely) what I wanted for my base and I kept telling her to please let me just read the menu and I told her what I previously had, had salmon then as I was reading she shouted at me the ones that had salmon in it and I thanked her and continued reading she then sighed really loud so I then just picked whichever one to get out of her hair she was rushing EVERTHING that it was incredibly pressuring to just get out of there, she didn’t even ask if I wanted to add anything extra she was just being so inconsiderate so I’d have to rate her customer service a freaking 2 then she added shrimp to the bowl and I told her I only wanted salmon so I told her can she take out the shrimp and she got sooooooo mad, so then she just rushed my bowl so fast and plopped it on the chair and almost scurried me out of there. I rushed out so fast I forgot my freaking coffee I had just bought on the counter so as I’m in the car I realize I forgot to add my regular extras so I walk in and the other worker just glares at me like “oh god what does she want now” the other worker walks in from the back and starts laughing with the other worker as of saying “what does she want” and I just grab my extra avocado and rush out AGAIN WITHOUT MY COFEE because I just wanted to get the hell out of there. You guys need to train these employees to be more considerate and train them how to be more pleasant than just coming in and doing they’re job, you really just lost a customer because I love poke bowls and I have 2 poke bowl places down the street from me that I regularly go to but I decided to drive all the way out to Vinings to revisit the yummy poke bowl I once had and continue going there because I knew the quality was so good, but all I am now is regretful and I’ll just go to the poke bowl place at the battery or the one by wellstar hospital from here on out. And thankfully I went back and added extra avocado because it would’ve...

I went in with my mother @1:15 on 7/24/2024.. she really loves the Bowl Lab and after we get our nails done every Tuesday she wants Bowl Lab so we walked down the side walk to Bowl Lab and we came inside there was no other customers but us. We where asked what we wanted I said I would like the Sol Cal and she stated she wanted the Aloha Bowl ..they young lady behind the counter seemed to be extremely inpatient and totally ignoring her.. she asked a question and the young lady would not respond to her at all and i had to intervene and state can you not hear her talking.. and she just stared at me as if I wasn't talking to her I've repeated the questions she asked several times. I then asked what was the issue and there for again no response just a blank stare into space as if we were bothering her.. so my mother asked the name of the seaweed 3 times and she said ooooh it's seaweed and she not what's the name and I turned and said she knows it's seaweed what is the name you call it. ( the reason she asked the question is because she really liked it and wanted to see where she could order it for herself at home) I then look at the front of the case and tried to pronounce the name and the young lady said the name with an attitude.. I then said that was rude.. so my mother is trying to tell the young lady what she wanted on her Bowl she acts as if she is not talking and I had to say loudly that she is talking to you and you don't hear her talking..... so again we ordered 2 different bowls.. I asked where is my Bowl she then states you need to get at the back of the line.. normally both bowls are made together... so she asked another person to fix my Bowl and I am friendly to her with a smile and I state can I have the managers info and the young lady's name I would like to make a complaint and she stated I can not give out that information.. and I can go online and do what ever... I said wow as well as my mother .. I have never heard of this before in all of my years of customer service.. I stated that fine I will take her picture and send it to corporate she then stated it's family owned and there is nothing you can do.. I took the young lady's and stated I will send it with my complaint.... she said she was going to call the police and I said that's fine. Then she asked what was my name I said I am not allowed to give out my name as well she then stated that she will get my name from credit card purchase. I stated now that's illeagal and that's credit card fraud... I said you was extremely rude to my mother and she stated that I was her helper and i should of spoke for her. However my mother is not mute nor disabled and I only help her with walking g and she is Cleary capable of speaking for her self and Cleary stated to the young lady your custo.er service was unexecptable and she was rude. I just read the reviews and it's seems as this a a regular problem.. the last review stated he felt like was a burden....That is exactly how my mother felt.. like she was asking to many questions and not making up her mind...

No you CANNOT get what you want!! I felt like i was in an episode of Seinfeld at the soup nazis kitchen...NO SOUP FOR YOU. I've been here repeatedly...and have been told NOOOOO, you cant have it you're way, once I asked for Kale as a base bc I had it before, they said NO, on my 3rd visit there I discovered they have loyalty punch cards, that no one ever told me about, I just saw the guy in front of me had one so I asked. I asked, can I have punches for my previous purchase (i have my receipts) they said NO. Ok, I get it, this is not Burger King, but dang when I brought my husband and toddler in today, their customer service really hit an all time low. From previous visits I've known to have low expectations on their service, but this time I'm actually compelled to write a review...sorry not sorry!

So lets begin by saying I was hesitating to take my toddler thinking, they don't really have a kid friendly menu, but this is a "LAB" i can create something, my toddler is very simple when it comes to food... chicken, noodles, pizza, french fries, chips...etc. So in line I'm thinking oh, they have chips and chicken!! Perfect!! I'm excited!! Yay!! Now that its our turn to order, I asked for just that. The line attendant proceeds to say NO, YOU CANT HAVE THAT. We go back and forth as to why, i said its okay we'll pay regular price for you to put some chicken on the nachos ($7.95), im confused because it seems pretty simple but she's angry bc i keep asking, basically it comes down to store policy. She said we can give you rice and protein, I broke down and ordered that as customers behind me are glaring, Knowing my kid is not going to eat it. I ordered my dish, hubby orders his, we are just in complete shock that we don't pay attention to the fact that we are getting asked questions about how we want our food, needless to say...my bowl wasn't exactly the way I wanted it. Anyway its our turn to pay now, and i ask the manger why we couldn't just put chicken and corn on some nachos. And she made it very clear NO, YOU CANT BECAUSE ITS OUR POLICY!! So in my mind at the expense of unsatisfied customers you will adhere to your policy and the fact that the manager is telling us NO yet again, we give in. I pulled out my bowl lab VIP card and she gave me two punches, i ordered 3 bowls and bought chips on the side. She said NO PUNCH FOR KID BOWL. Oh, ok.

So in summary, if you're going here expecting great service, think again. Also, kids don't have a lot of options. For a place in Smyrna, as kid central as it gets, this is unacceptable.

You may have good food (decent) but your customer service and lack of empathy for your customers is not going to get you too far. Hopefully you make improvements on your policy bc from our pov your policy is "we dont give AF" we certainly won't be patronizing again. We prefer...
