Bella Gina Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

My family and I use to love Bella Gina's Pizza. Visiting Va Beach once a year, we always eat lunch or dinner here, but Never Again! On Monday, August 24th, 2020 we walked into the restaurant to place an order, the cashier had her mask on, the server had her mask on but then pulled it down under her chin, and all the cooks in the back wore their mask under their chins and/or no mask at all. Working in healthcare this was very concerning to me, but yes, I still placed my order. I do not want to live in fear and not enjoy eating out, so I took a chance (wrong place to do so). I do understand that mask are uncomfortable, irritating, and makes it difficult to breath, but what did it for me was when the very unprofessional man making the pizza's (older, short man with dark hair and a mustache) took a pizza out of the oven and touched it with his bare hands several times then placed it back in the oven. Another worker (younger gentleman), walked in (without wearing his mask) and started prepping pizza by placing them in the boxes and then cutting them to be served. During my experience, I did not want to say anything because I hate to complain and make others feel bad, BUT with COVID-19, I just did not feel comfortable with the atmosphere or the man starring at me while making our pizza's. I walked back to the register and said, "I am sorry to do this, but, I do not feel comfortable eating food from here with no one wearing mask and the gentleman in the back touching the pizzas with his bare hands. The man that was in the back making the pizza's (older short man) came to the front and yelled at me. He said " I CANNOT WEAR GLOVES BECAUSE OF THE OVEN BEING SO HOT", and "NO ONE WEARS MASK IN HERE AND PEOPLE EAT HERE ALL THE TIME" I felt that he was attacking me. I asked him "please do not speak to me this way sir" and his tone then became louder. The man wanted to argue with me, he kept yelling at me and almost tried to come across the counter. I honestly wanted to call my husband to come into the restaurant, but this situation would not have ended well. The manager of the store said "ma'am I am sorry, we cannot do anything with him, we are sorry" This type of behavior is unacceptable. I will never ever go back into this restaurant nor will I allow anyone that I love to eat from here. This experience almost ruined my beach trip with my family. Not much good to say here. I had been really looking forward to eating here because it was later at night and they were one of the only places open and the pizza did loom good.

I went in thinking I'd have pizza but changed my mind and ordered the chili cheese fries.

When I was given my bill, it was a couple more dollars than the price on the menu. I asked to guy who had taken my order and he said they were $7.99 and I told him they weren't. He walked around, looked up at the menu and then told me that a lot of things were a dollar more than what it said up there. He said something to another man in a different language and they laughed, which never makes me self-conscious, and he walked back behind the register and took a buck out of the register and handed it to me.

I stood at the counter waiting when this older guy came over and proceeded to tell me about how much more expensive things were than when they bought the place. I said something about putting up a sign and he ignored me and kept talking and, it felt like, trying to make me feel bad for question my bill.

I stayed up at the counter waiting until 1 guy saw me and told me to go sit down and they'd bring me my food. I went and say down and about 10 minutes later a guy said 'Chile cheese fries" and tossed them up in the counter. I went to get them and didn't get a water I asked for.

I sat down and opened the "chili cheese fries" and found some like I had never had before.

The fries looked like they were cover in the grill scrapings from the hamburger grill that had been hit with chili powder and then some white cheese, maybe mozzarella or provolone, and then nuked or baked. It did not look good and the taste matched the looks.

I didn't want to deal with the guys again so I ate a couple bites and left.

I get the feeling they just didn't like being questioned about the price. If that bugs you, then you're in the wrong business. I don't believe that the customer's always right but it's definitely not the customer's fault if you don't have the right prices up. There were enough guys just standing around behind the counter that someone could have hung a sign sometime in the last few weeks.

I get the feeling these guys are just here to get as much money as possible as quickly as possible, from drunks and tourists who pat good bills without looking at them.

Family and I wanted to enjoy some good pizza for dinner this place was near our hotel and I had seen the reviews about it so I thought it was a good idea to try it out. We got in line to place our order to go and the cashier that took our order was friendly and I liked that she handed me my order number and so we went to sit down to wait, it was a busy night as more customers would come and place their order and then I noticed that order numbers were being called out and these were for customers that came in after we did so I thought well our order was a big one so maybe that's why. after 45 min passed I started to wonder so I went up to the cashier to ask for our food, she went back to ask and came back to tell me that it will be ready in 10 min so 10 min passed and still nothing 1 hour and 15 mins passed I went back up to ask for our food the cashier this time could not even look at me and she pretended to not see me and I was upset I had a baby starting to get fussy and our food wasn't ready, so finally she acknowledged me and kept apologizing then a guy comes up to tell me that he had made our food but it was sitting in the back this whole time started saying that it was so busy he didn't realize what he had done and said he would throw in some free drinks in there and so I try to keep my cool and kindly asked if our food was cold since it was just sitting in the back and they promised me it wasn't well needless to say our food was cold and it looked like they just made it asap because it wasn't cooked all the way.
