This location looked to be a great deal through AirBnB. It was just an okay deal, in an outdated hotel. There were No active updates to the location being conducted, unlike many other locations in this area. I will break this down in the review as I witnessed them during a recent stay on February 09 & 10, 2024.. From the street view it seems like a good location. We first noticed that the size of the parking area did not match the number of room at the location. Very small and tight parking spaces. Entering in this location to check in...was not shocking but was not appealing either. Seemed at bit "thrown together". Check in was quick and nice. The clerk was friendly and was able to carry on a conversation, which was nice. We then went to the elevators ( 2 of them and very small) and went up to the room. Coming of the elevator, you notice that the carpet is worn and lights are a bit soft. We noticed that fire alarms were beeping either due to low batteries or not connected. The front desk was made aware of it, but the frim alarm continued throughout the stay. The room was just okay, lots of paint issues, tv was plugged into a broken surge protector, the balcony was small with two lawn chairs, noticed lots of work needing to be addressed. The most concerning issues with the balcony was ALL rooms on all floors could be accessed by the balcony (see the attached photo). The room was to have been a private room, but had an suite door for the next room. The desk clerk was not concerned about when question and responded. "That's the room assigned for AirBnB reservations." Upon returning from dinner we entered the building and got on the elevator. Immediately the odor of marijuana would take your breath. Getting off the elevator on the third that odor was even stronger. Again the clerk was not concerned when asked again about a different room. The response was as before. the photos provided on the resort page and AirBnB do not match how this location really is. I guess the location is a "you get what you pay for" location. While was the "off season" there is no excuses for this. Pictures are not reliable, and google review are deceiving. Never again at...
Read moreHotel itself placed nicely in relation to beach...front desk service the first night, not too welcoming..had hard time understanding desk attendant, had to ask for her to repeat herself more than once, she was talking so low...didn't greet us with friendliness at all...after driving ten hours you would expect something more than complacency. Also a parking fee was charged to our bill for 50.00 for the week. Ten dollars a day to park in the hotel! I was disappointed with this! They don't tell you this upfront. Room was pretty good..the bathroom had no counter just a sink..no soap, no shampoo. The shower was wheelchair accessible since we got it that way for my husband. It's a open wide walk in shower..which was nice but there was no water pressure out of the showerhead..so the shower took longer. Elevators were extremely slow. Bathrooms in lobby were broke down. Access to beach was easy and pretty good. Our one real frustration was the metered parking all over for everything and I do not exxagerate about this at all. Everywhere and everything you want to do is controlled by a parking meter. Unexpected fees and charges on bills. We are at a place called Cactus Jack's and we're blindsided by a gratuity fee for only just the two of us. We noticed after we already gave the server a tip. Our bill came to 128 dollars and some change. One special mixed drink came to 17.00!!!!!..the only 2 saving graces...food was good, server was nice. Meters and parking were a pain!!! You're better to go outside the area to eat and or shop...but the shops are nice good deals at sunsations stores..if you want bigger clothes. Sales going on good ones. Weather beautiful.. Neptune statue very Kool...jets overhead loud but Kool. Waves big.. wind choppy. Tried not to break the bank on this vacay..but wasn't prepared for all the hidden fees and costs on...
Read moreGot here and checked in only to find out they’re parking lot is full, so had to park across street behind a building for their overflow parking. Only one elevator worked during the first 2 nights we stayed, luckily we were on 2nd floor and used the staircase most of the time coming out of the building. The elevator needs some updating and cleaning the buttons would help. The room was clean except it smelled like a bag of weed were left somewhere, good thing I brought my air purifier, Febreeze and Lysol spray like I always do which worked. The AC worked fine but may need to be cleaned. The room and bathroom were clean. TV was outdated and very pixelated. Phone worked and needs to be updated also. They were doing some renovating on the exterior and hoping they do the rooms next as this place has a potential once updated. The queen size bed was a plus and was very comfortable as most hotel only offer full size bed. The pillows could be better as some were plastic covered and some weren’t. The bathroom had plenty of towels/washcloths and there were soap/shampoo dispenser on shower wall which we didn’t use as we always bring our own. For the price, it was excellent as it was nothing but oceanfront view balcony and few steps from shops, bars and restaurants. There was a rental bike/roller blade shop on the corner of the hotel building which we definitely took part of - enjoyed riding the bikes on the bike lane (did 4 miles). The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall for the price I paid, this place was great! Hotel need to put a card scanner on exterior staircase door for ppl who prefer taking stairs or if there’s a long elevator wait. And my son ended up finding a small bag of weed under one of the plastic covered cups, hence the smell. What did I do with it? I said deuces and we flushed it...
