Naval Aviation Monument Park — Attraction in Virginia Beach

Awesome Naval Aviation Monument Park that gives thanks and notice to the Navy Base within the area.

Showcasing multiple monuments from historic moments like the first landing on an aircraft carrier to honoring the families welcoming their military men and women home, there's something of interest for everyone in this little park.

It sits right off the ocean from boardwalk, between hotels and across the road from the main shopping strip. It's a great location to soak up some sun, learn some history, and pay our respects.

I spent about a half hour here reading and looking at everything though someone with less interest in reading may take 10, 15 minutes.

We were walking the boardwalk and saw this monument. As we were walking around reading about it we met a veteran who was part of designing and upkeeping the monument. He gave us insight on the design, down to the detail that it was built in the flight path of the nearby Oceana Air Base. You could see and feel his passion for this monument and what it means to him.
