Absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in! Parking lot is tiny and spaces are hard to fit into. We have a large SUV and could barely maneuver around the cramped lot, let alone into the too small spaces. Hallway to the room was narrow and luggage cart did not fit through with enough room to move. Hallways in room were just as tight, and two people cannot fit through to get to bedroom or bathroom at one time. They advertise "every room has a private balcony," well, we were stuck on the first floor where there are NO balconies. Crushing when the view we were looking forward to was non-existent. The drapes do not fully cover the windows, so the bottom 2 feet of the doors are visible to the people outside at all times. Being ground level, we could not leave the drapes open because we had people from the bike path and the boardwalk looking in nonstop. So not only did we not have a balcony view, we had no view or natural light in order to have what privacy we could get. One man even walked up to our door and tried to open it. When he realized it was locked, he peered in the gap between the drapes, looking at each of my family members. The customers from the ice cream shop next door hung around right outside our room door. There were homeless people sleeping on the benches right outside our room. The guests next door had various clothing items strewn about the shared grass area and we had to move some of their things just to avoid stepping on them as we walked out of our slider doors. Overall, having young children, the ground level was very frightening for our/their safety. Housekeeping never once came during our entire 3 night stay. I left the sheets turned down and dirty towels in a pile on the floor at 830 am when we left for activities, and after our return at 530pm, the beds had not been made, no fresh towels were left, bathroom had not been cleaned, trash not emptied, and sand still remained covering the rug and floor. There was soap scum build up on the shower wall when we arrived, the hand towel ring was falling off the wall. There were cracks in the ceiling and throughout the night, it sounded as if the ceiling was going to cave in. The beds were terribly squeaky and uncomfortable. The slant in the bed made me feel as if I was going to fall out. The blanket left in the dresser with broken drawers that barely opened, was so stinky there is no way it could have been clean. The beds have no room to walk around, so the outside sleeper had to climb in over the inside sleeper to get to their side. There was advertised to be dinnerware for 6, but we could barely piece together enough for 3. Due to the lack of cleanliness of the room, we dared not use it though. At check in time, there was a line outside the office door, and being in the room right behind the office, we had a hard time just getting to our room. The sound of the key card maker was heard nonstop through our walls until the line had resided. If you have young kids, or are light sleepers, be warned you can hear the live band that plays across the street, the sounds of people, and cars through the walls, late into the night. The TVs worked, but lacked HD, so the picture is not great. The room had a bit of a bad smell overall and was very cramped for our large group, even though it consisted mostly of small children. Very disappointed with just about every aspect of this hotel. We tried to find another, but had no luck last minute with a large group. Website pictures and promises are deceiving. The balcony view we did not have was the most crushing and could very well have made up for many of the shortcomings of this hotel. We tried to stay out of the room and away from the hotel as much as possible. I DO NOT recommend this hotel and was actually relieved when our...
Read moreDespite the place being next to the ocean my experience was awful. We checked in 8/16/20 to the most dirty room l have never came a cross while on vacation. With this pandemic you would think ocean suites management are cautious with cleanliness. Rm 207 may not have been cleaned at all, since the last guest checked out. It’s advice able during this time to disinfect highly touched surfaces when you check in. This is what’s saved me because l had carried all my cleaning supplies name it. It took me an hour to clean and wipe down the entire room. Toilet was the dirtiest still stained with pop and pee. If l had looked at the toilet before l started wiping the surface l would have cancelled my stay here. The coffee maker crusted with coffee, the sofa bed had food particles, very dirty underneath. Kitchen surfaces cabinets was extremely dusty. The bedding hand sand on them, l don’t think the linens were exchanged after the last guest. To my surprise l took picture shared them at the reception but the answer was we are sorry, lam writing your comments down. Two days after, on 8/18/20 our room door was acting out, at times the swipe would work at times no. We brought this to the attention of management but we were told it’s because we are keeping them together with the phones. The swipe would work on all other doors but not our room but no one listened. Finally we found a good Sumerian at the reception who called someone to fix it but was unable to and he recommend the lock to be changed. Nothing was done, so anytime we would leave the room we had to go through the receptionist to be let in and this you could tell by their faces was annoying to them. Finally on 8/20/20 l went to the receptionist to be let in the room the lady there seemed to be concerned and called l believe the manger about the issue of the room door that had been going on since her last shift two days. This was the answer that l overhead since the phone was loud. “They are checking out tomorrow so the door will be fixed for the next guest” my question is what type of guest we were, compared to those guests coming after us. Very bad experience indeed at this place. Management of this place owes us an...
