Okay long review. First this room was very clean, near the beach, and affordable. There is NO onsite parking! You can only park under the building to load or unload, then get a parking pass to park a block over. DO NOT park just anywhere there is a fine of $145.00 towing fee, they enforce parking, so you have to pay attention! There is NO elevator and no rooms on the first floor that I'd seen. So this is NOT handicapped accessible in my opinion. The steps are not wide and friendly for people that have issues with steps. When were there, there were a couple time where we had to talk with the office people and was VERY hard to understand them, we were told a few times "don't speak English" but they gave us plenty of coupon books for the area that we didn't use. They have NO vending machine, no ice machine, no morning snacks or coffee. You are only paying for the room. You are near convenience stores, some good restaurants, and shopping places. In the room; you have a small refrigerator, coffee pot, and a microwave. The beds have no box springs which is placed on metal frame, not the most comfortable bed, it is also covered in plastic (the mattress) so you do hear the crinkle a little when you move. When we laid down for the night, after we all had showered there was grit (I'm assuming sand) that was in between the sheets. The linens and towels smelled clean. The TV had some channels that were set only on Spanish, the subtitles stayed on, and it was set on for def setting. The remote only worked for changing channels, you had to get up to turn volume setting and turn on/off power. Had a wonderful view of the ocean and walking distance to places to shop and eat. The shower was nice to get in and out of. You can sit outside your room on the ocean view side but people walk in front with little room. We did see the cleaning staff and they were very nice and handed us extra supplies when we needed them. Was not a bad experience, but for the money it wasn't the greatest. When we went to say we were checking out the Office was locked (a little after 8:30am). I called on phone and the man answered after a few rings. I asked if we could get a print out of our bill, he said yes. So we walk back to door, a few steps from where we were and he got out of bed unlocked door, printed out bill, handed it to us and relocked the door, and went back to bed. When we looked at bill it had wrong information on it, but will keep an eye out...
Read moreLet me tell you about my recent experience at this location. The "what makes a good review?" pop-up says I should put something "good", so I'll say that it was satisfactory they provided four complete walls, a ceiling, and a floor for the room. Water was also adequately supplied from the faucets. ||||Now that's out of the way, let’s get to the bad. ||||How one is treated arriving at a business, weighs extremely heavily on the minds of customers indefinitely, and the treatment from check-in personnel dispensed at this particular establishment is definitely memorable, but not in a good way. The staff is extremely difficult, demanding, uncompromising, misleading, and just downright unfriendly. The rooms are clearly listed for up to and including six guests per room, but they apparently want to demand additional payment for whomever they deem uncovered by the daily room rate. Even after paying these concocted additional charges for “additional people in the room”, they will then argue with providing adequate bedding, or even pillows, for the as stated and clearly referenced, six allowed guests. Raised voices and angry attitudes are not a needed, nor welcome, amenity at even a one star hotel. Certainly, the phrase “stay in your place!, should NEVER be shouted at a guest in a threatening manner. I personally would never, EVER stay at this place again, however it may be necessary, should you find yourself in one or more of the following circumstances:||||1. On the run from the law, low on cash, and have a documented history of staying at decent hotels with reasonable employees, so the authorities would never suspect you were dropping your standards low enough to stay here||||2. Need a location for a crime drama show and the scene calls for a meth addict overdosing in a sleazy hotel room.||||3. Are an extreme masochist and receive pleasure from sarcastic tones, verbal abuse, demeaning behavior, and just all-around, maximum unpleasantness.||||In summation, staying here you may possibly bear witness to some of the most insane things you have ever heard. At no point in their rambling, incoherent responses will they even be close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Every “guest” will be worse off for enduring this grueling experience. ||||I award you them no stars, and may God have mercy on...
Read moreSCAM ARTIST! NEVER GO HERE! YOU'RE BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR! Honestly this is the WORST hotel I've ever been to in my entire life! My husband and I had booked through bookings.com, the hotel rooms were misrepresented(pictures were NOT of this hotel) and we ended up being charged for 2 separate rooms. ($130) When we arrived there was nobody in the lobby and we had to call 3 times to contact an employee. When we did, we were told we'd have to wait for them to walk back to the hotel from 9th Street. When they arrived and we began the check in process we found out about the two room charge, they said it was non refundable. We just took the one room and never used the other. The balconies were not private as pictured, the bathrooms were filthy and smelled like mildew, all the lamps were unplugged and covered in black mold and rust, the room itself smelled like smoke and must, the floors were filthy, the refrigerator didn't work, the walls were dripping with moisture and had holes in them, when you use the shower the smoke detector goes off, the coffee pot makes you clear coffee served with a side of expired sweetener on a dirty tray. When we went to leave the owner was waiting for us in the parking lot, he told us we had to pay his $60 pet fee, mind you we paid an additional $65 already for the second room WE NEVER USED! When we said we wouldn't pay it as we already paid for 2 rooms, he started getting very hostile and aggressive with my husband walking up on him and our car. The craziest part is throughout this entire interaction the owners dog was following us around the car and HAD JUST WOKEN UP FROM A NAP IN THE LOBBY WHERE HE WAS SLEEPING ON HOTEL BED SHEETS!!! This business needs to be audited and checked to see if it's up to code. The only thing keeping this place in business is it's proximity to the beach. This place had so much potential. Very...
