Escapism Games — Attraction in Virginia Beach

My husband & I were looking for something to do on a cold & rainy Friday night. He had seen a video that had talked about Escapism, so we decided to check it out. At this point I should add that we are VERY experienced Escape Room fans. We have done them in various states, various difficulty levels, and with varying size groups.

We opted for the Prison Break room. Logan was amazing at explaining everything. Very friendly and communicative. Daniel was really cool! Together they talked with us about the business and varying escape rooms. It was awesome to get to know them.

As it was just the 2 of us I was a little apprehensive that we would be able to complete the room. Daniel explained it had a 30% completion rate. The bar was set, and the competition was on.

Daniel entered the room with us and gave a brief description. Reassuring us we would not need to remove anything from the walls or floor, and that items would only be needed once. This wasn't entirely true as some clues did overlap.

We worked amazingly as a team (hey, we've been together for 30yrs) and only got "stumped" once, which turned out to be an (user) issue with one of the locks. Daniel quickly assisted and we kept rolling! We finished the room with just under 15 minutes remaining on the clock.

This room was great. The clues were clear, but still challenging. There are 3 areas to the puzzle and you work back & forth in them, which is nice. They provided a little note board (think children's "tablet") for taking notes. The use of the props was fun, and a bit different from what we've seen in the past.

All in all this was a great experience! I highly recommend Escapism at the VB oceanfront. Logan was an amazing host, and Daniel was a great coach. Thank you gentleman for an enjoyable rainy...

We went to this room really expecting to be "wowed" since it was so highly recommended by others. We've done escape rooms on other vacations so we were really looking forward to it. When we got there, we were a little surprised by the lack of professional atmosphere. There was one desk with someone sitting there and a white board....this is not a big deal, but for the experience, it was completely overpriced. We did the Escape from the 80's which we enjoyed, but some of the clues were not working and the game master actually had to enter the room to help us with a glitch. One of the puzzles was ripped and was made from thin paper. Other elements of the escape room were mediocre in quality which made it a little more difficult to follow the clues. The people were very kind and helpful, but this not worth the money we paid.The cost for the four of us was $162.40. It was definitely not worth that amount of money. I would encourage driving to the other escape rooms in town and saving your money for a challenge that is...

We are from out of town on vacation here in the area looking for fun activities to do and we were walking around and found this place. I googled escape rooms in the area looking for the highest rated and this was VERY well recommended. The owner was VERY helpful in the phone with booking. The Game Master was very nice and made everything easy to understand and gave very helpful instructions! We did the 80’s room and it did not disappoint AT ALL. Very fun for family’s and groups, the room was very well thought out and executed. The Owner put everything together himself which is crazy with how well everything works together. After doing a few different escape rooms at other establishments I can confidently say this is at one of the top on my lists. We will definitely be back to check out the other room.
