We stayed here for five nights for a family beach vacation. You check in the plaza and go across the street to the motel. The parking garage entrance is in between the outdoor pool and Sweet Frog. The staff was friendly but they seem overwhelmed with all the customers. We booked the 2 queen bed suite. I thought the couch was a pull out bed but it wasn't. It is just a love seat. The ac on the living room side worked but the ac on the bed side was broken. They put a plug in fan on that side. The temperature was in the triple digits for that week so not having ac was killer. My husband let them know and they sent the maintenance man but he said he couldn't fix it and that at least the air worked on the other side. Half the lights don't work. The beds are not comfortable and there was already sand in the sheets when we arrived. There were 2 bathrooms in the room! That was a surprise because it doesn't say that in the description online. That was nice to have a separate bathroom for the kids and adults. The outdoor pool is nice to cool off but it is dirty. The inside pool had such a strong chlorine smell that we only went there once. The gym is small and half the equipment was broken and didn't work. It also has a strong weird smell. The location is nice. The motel is on the side with all the shops and stores so you can just walk. You only have to walk across the street and go through the main hotel to get to the boardwalk and beach. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you want something cheap and close to the beach and you don't mind a basic motel then...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to book a room for the Shamrock Run that she was participating in, the only good thing about our stay was location.
We had booked online, and the pictures online did not match our room or location at all. Not to mention the massive price jump from normal rates for the race weekend.
Upon checking in we first realized that the door to the room could not be locked or close completely. All the auxiliary locks on the door were broken or missing, and the door frame had been broken(kicked in), which is why it couldn't close completely. Further inspection of the room led to more discomfort. The thermostat had been set to 90 degrees, the room had debris on the floor and had not been vacuumed. Looking around someone had written on the wall decor with paint pen, "BED BUGS." We found that it had been written everywhere, on the paintings, toilet seat, air conditioning unit, etc. "BED BUGS, BED BUGS, BED BUGS!!!"
We gathered our things and immediately went to request to be moved. We requested to upgrade to the main building, the side we thought was booked, but we're told they had nothing available. Though online it still showed bookings. They moved us to a suite. This room was more tolerable, the door locked, and it was atleast clean. However, headboard for the beds were coming off the wall, the smoke alarm was missing, and the mini fridge did not work. I will never book this hotel again, nor recommend...
Read moreWe stayed in 250 (end unit). Smells musty. If you have allergies to mold, this may not be a good place for you. Your view will be the parking lot. Room is pretty spacious for 2 & offers a mini fridge, microwave, & small sink in the kitchenette. Don't plan to do any cooking. Works great for 1 or 2 nights. For such an old bldg., it was fairly clean but definitely needs an overhaul. A second TV in the sitting area would be nice. The telephone and safe were not working. I contacted the front desk and they immediately sent 2 gentlemen to rectify this. On arrival, housekeeping was cleaning rooms and there was trash and linens on the sidewalk outside our door. The last thing a patron wants to see is linens on the sidewalk. Ramada needs to provide carts on wheels & if they do; make sure the staff is actually using them. Thankfully our linens were clean (yes I checked). After a 2 hr walk, we returned to find trash still outside the door. Maintenance attempted to pick up most of it, but the sidewalk needs a good scrub to avoid attracting unwanted pests. Location is fine if you're not looking for an ocean view. It's a quick walk across the street to the beach. We were told that we could use the amenities across the street at the Ramada Plaza. They have an on site restaurant as well with a beach view and outside seating area. If you're looking for a 5 star, this is not it. If you're looking for a good price, this would...
