Ordered a burrito and an horchata, both were horrendous.
When I arrived to the store I was met with a roach scurrying between my feet. I was given no attention by the staff, they were on their phones and speaking to each other as I patiently waited. Finally one of them stated “do you need something or what”, and then I proceeded to say that I had an online order, but I was immediately cut off with them saying “nope no online orders right now, are you sure you’re at the right store?” I assured the worker and showed them my app and then they looked at the register and started speaking Spanish aggressively as if they were very angry. Then the worker stated “okay the order just come in now go sit over there for 5 minutes.” I sat and patiently waited for my order and then went to retrieve my food.
I ordered guacamole in my burrito and apparently they didn’t have any at the time so they said they gave me extra green salsa instead, mind you, my original order didn’t even include green salsa. My burrito was absolutely soggy with all the extra sauce and the burrito looked like it came out of a sewer. I’m not even sure why she thought green salsa was even an appropriate substitute for guac, I guess the line of thinking was that they are both green so it should work out. I didn’t want to argue with someone so incompetent. She dug out a cup for my horchata and touched the inside of the cup with her bare hands while handing it to me. I requested her to retrieve one for me properly and she proceeded to grab one and slam the cup on the cup and exclaim “okay!”
When I went to fill the horchata I noticed the milk didn’t even have any of the ingredients in it, such as the cinnamon powder, it was literally just sugar milk. I tasted it, and I was correct. I brought this up to the worker and they just told me that they can’t do it right now and I can get a Pepsi or something instead. However I did not want a soda so I just asked for a refund for the drink. Overall, an absolutely terrible experience here, would not recommend, would...
Read moreWe walked into the restaurant with another family. When we walked up to the counter, we noticed It was all very dirty. The food prep area, the floor, and even the separate containers, one was spilling into another. The gentleman behind the counter had his pants halfway down his bottom exposing his underwear (which was plaid by the way). We had a few questions but he didn’t really want to answer them, I asked about what tasted good since I hadn’t visited for a long time (I used to come when It first opened and It was spotless and amazing experience then) but he just turned to his coworker and made a comment in Spanish and they both had a chuckle. We then proceeded to the cash counter , I asked the guy my kids meal should include chips and a drink right? He goes no this quesadilla is free . I said well I ordered a kids meal. Then he proceeded to give me a styrofoam cup and filled up cheese and nachos without gloves while managing cash. We sat down and wanted to wash our hands (there were no napkins in the dispenser in the bathroom and It looked in disarray) . Also , no napkins next to the forks and spoons , how do you eat tacos without napkins. Fine , we finally sat down to eat after filling our drinks (the mint lemonde was almost out but the area itself looked dirty and the ice dispense had mold on It). When we sat down almost immediately the cashier grabbed a broom and started sweeping right around us. I’m like really we just sat down! The entire place was practically empty , but he had to come there with the sudden urge to sweep? My daughter complained that she was still hungry (remember he only gave us a mini “free quesadilla “) so she filled herself up with chips. The garbage cans were overflowing with garbage. It was NOT the experience I was hoping for and quite frankly was embarrassed because I suggested this place after we went to SkyZone which is in the same shopping center. Sadly, we will not be returning due to the lack of professionalism and...
Read moreAs a Utah native I’m a long time fan of cafe Rio, been eating it for over 15 years. Never had a problem with the customer service till I went to this location. The taller Hispanic feminine looking dude with black curly hair and piercings needs an attitude check and out of a customer service job asap. He was completely disrespectful the whole time. I asked the guy what’s the price difference between the large and small tortilla. Replies with “I don’t know”. Wouldn’t even look at me. What do you mean you don’t know? Go find out! “They’re the same price” he says because he’s to lazy to take 20 seconds and verify. Whatever. I go to check out. He rings me up and seems so bothered by the question “do you offer a military discount?” The dude let’s out a sigh, adjusts the price, and walks away from the register without saying a word. Thanks prick. I swipe my card and leave. I could’ve walked out of there without even paying because the guy couldn’t be bothered to make sure his customer was good to go before moving on to his next task. As much as I deserved this meal to be on the house after dealing with this guy I still paid because I support cafe Rio as a company. It sucks this location is the closest to my house. I hope I don’t see this dude next time I’m in. I’ll just start going to a further...
