I can’t say I was too pleased with my first time trying Chicken Fiesta. I ordered The Nachos Supreme. I asked for ground beef. The cashiers response was, “do you want jalopenos?” I responded by interpreting that, she meant they were out of ground beef. I reluctantly got steak instead. I really wanted the ground beef though. So it took maybe six minutes to get our food. I was not very thrilled with the entree I received. The Nachos Supreme came with six (restaurant sized) tortilla chips. Imagine sharing a bag of tostitos and only getting offered six chips from your friends? The nachos were layed precisely around the perimeter of my plate (not enough to touch end to end), topped in a layer of grilled cheese with about one or two small bites of steak in each chip. All the toppings were layered in the center of the plate. The most satisfying toppings were hard to get on the chips. I was able to get maybe two chips dipped in the sour cream, but that was it. I didn’t want to play with my food tonight so instead of putting all the toppings together on the chips with my hands or a fork, I just ate the chips with the grilled cheese, steak and sour cream. Can’t say I was happy. This meal was $9. You can get Nachos that are 100 times better from a food truck. They were minimal with the amount of chips served and basically gave me what amount to a soggy (super wet) salad. I think Chili’s presents a better dish with their Quesadilla Explosion Salad. I ordered the nachos and got hardly any whatsoever. The cashier should be able to clarify her claims better. Will I come back to try a different entree? I’m unsure at this moment. Just didn’t like...
Read moreIf you like chicken, enchiladas and Tex-Mex food then you’ll enjoy Chicken Fiesta. It’s consistently tasty, and the workers are friendly and helpful. They are a fast-casual food place. Their price ranges from around 2 to 15 dollars.
You order your food and then get a pager, like Arby’s. They don’t take very long usually unless you’re at lunch rush or so. A while ago, the cashier lady recommended fried corn tamales to me— and I enjoyed it. It’s three pieces fried corn bread with some sour cream.
I like how you can order a la carte items too. Such as a single chicken enchilada which comes with sour cream, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. Their cheesy burrito platter is one of my favorites. It comes with a huge cheese-covered chicken burrito, rice, beans as well as lettuce and tomatoes. I prefer the yellow sauce over the spicy green sauce.
Unique drinks are available, such as the Malta India soda which comes in a bottle. It is a non-alcoholic malt soda which sort of reminds me of a cream soda but has a distinct, rich flavor. There is also a mango drink which they give you in a cup (which I don’t believe has free refills).
For dessert they have milk cake (tres leches), flan and fried ice cream. I’m not a fan of flan so it’s alright to me, but I like their milk cake. Their fried ice cream is pretty decent too. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Anytime I need quick and delicious meal, I know I can count on this place to deliver. I tend to always order pick up and my meal is always ready when I arrive. I've had trouble with online orders at other restaurants-- I've never had a problem with Chicken Fiesta.
The customer service is the best. Never had an issue with any worker I've dealt with at this location in Henrico County. Every single part of the restaurant is always clean. I hope management treats their employees well.
You really can't go wrong with ordering anything off the menu. I've had pretty much everything they offer. The only dish I felt was disappointing was the Lomo Saltado but even that was delicious-- it's just a bit pricey for what you get.
My one and only complaint for Chicken Fiesta is the rotisserie chicken wheel. The smell of the charred meat can sometimes be a bit strong. I also wonder how much the charcoal smoke workers breathe in during their shifts. If the restaurants ever do a design overhaul, the wheel should probably go in the back in a well ventilated area.
All in all, great place to eat. I'll continue to be a customer if they keep up...
