Devil’s Lettuce is not only endorsed by this vegan adult, but also picky-eater kiddo approved! I brought my little critic of 5 years in for a late lunch, and I was absolutely astounded by a variety of things. First things first, the customer service is top notch - he ordered his food independently, and the staff were so accommodating with him, as he’s a little guy and words can be hard for such a teeny kid. He ordered the Dank Nuggs with a side of mac & cheese, and I got the Killer Tofu Toastie, recommended by the staff. It took about eight minutes from when we ordered to when we got our food - which was amazing, as sitting with a hungry kiddo sometimes isn’t the easiest. Now, the most impressive part was that my dining buddy not only tried a bite of everything (nuggets, mac and cheese, tater tots), but voiced his amazement with each item. He’s the kind of picky that won’t even stray from the specific brand of chicken nuggets and mac, so for him to actively enjoy non-Velveeta & Tyson food, I was nothing but shocked. My sandwich was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had (the pesto is nut-free!!!). Add in the fact that it’s all vegan, and you’ve got the perfect storm for any vegan parent with a picky kiddie. Cannot recommend this enough, even if you’re not vegan - you’ll literally never know it’s plant based! Attached are pics taken by the...
Read morewe came here during a road trip, and it was definitely worth the mild detour. lots of food! we ordered the $6 bowl of (greasy deep-fried?) brussels sprouts and it lasted us at least 4 meals.
we got there on the last saturday at their original location before their move to broad street, and they were still operating well. i ended up doing the make your own bowl since that seemed like the easiest option for me. the counter person was very helpful in letting me know which items were wheat-free (she said the menus at the next location will have GF items more clearly marked)
this dang bowl lasted me 2 meals! we also got the cheese fries platter, we decided to finish the fries there since they are less likely to store well. we scraped excess beyond burger chunks and (melted violife) cheese into my leftover bowl contents.
the only thing i wasn't too fond of is that it was slightly too oily. but maybe that's the leftovers talking (because it had the fry platter scrapings and 1/4 of the brussels in there)
maybe the brussels would be better if they were deep fried for a shorter amount of time and then finished off in the oven where they can drip off a bit. (but restaurants have limitations. maybe this would be too many steps for a $3 cup / $6 bowl item. and wouldn't be able to be done on demand)

Read moreAs a meat eater - gone vegetarian - gone back to meat eater - I can say that this place is insane. I didn’t have high hopes and went in with the mindset of ‘try everything once’. We got the Sloppy Mac and the Po’ Girl (and Mac n’ cheese/ Brussels) and I was in hog heaven. Portions were massive, filling, and decently priced - which is a BIG ask with health-oriented and diet friendly places. The Sloppy Mac was good - I could tell it was beef alternative just because I’m familiar with it, but I’m not sure you’d be able to tell if you weren’t. It actually had flavor and it was filling. However, the Po’ Girl is a whole different experience. Fried hearts of palm can seem scary to most, but the coating and fry on them is next level. If I hadn’t known and you told me it was chicken, I would have believed you. A lot of the flavor is from the coating. The coating is kind of spicy and savory, and it’s extra crunchy. The sauce had good flavor, the slaw, the onions - it all just worked. Not to mention, half the burrito was the size of my face. The Mac and cheese had a savory almost bacon-like flavor and the balsamic brussels were very good too. Staff was extremely sweet too. This vegan place far outweighs the regular restaurants in my area. I’d drive the two hours to go back...
