While this place is new and still settling in, the food was good and service even better. While we had to wait 30 mins.to get a table, my boyfriend and I watched the kitchen, waiters and runners work their butts off. We were impressed with how many workers they had, which they needed..so that is a good thing. When we finally got seated, I was happy and surprised they put us in a huge booth meant for at least 8 people...that was a plus. Our server was very nice and good and drinks came quickly. We ordered the wings and then realized we forgot to order the foccia bread. Our server said it could take a while, but it didn't. They brought it over quickly and aimed to please, which we appreciated. While the wings were very good and most of the sauces they served with them were good, I will say, the BBQ dipping sauce, which I believe was Sweet Baby Ray's, was cold. You could tell they just squirted it out of the bottle. Come on guys, warm it up and add something to it ie., some garlic, cilantro or some horseradish and make it unique and your own. So, one star comes off for that. Finally the burgers came and yes, real burgers, not a smashed burger! Yay! While my BF asked for medium rare, he got medium, but ok, we understand medium rare can be difficult when you have a huge crowd, so no biggie. The issue came when I bit into my burger and pulled out a long blonde hair. The server came over immediately and grabbed the burger and said he would report it to management, then 2 managers came over and apologized and said they would comp items. While this situation didn't completely gross me out, it did ruin the momentum of the meal. So, overall, they did the right thing of taking the burger off the ticket along with a couple of other items. I would definitely return to eat here again. But the items they need to work on: do something about the wing BBQ sauce, which should never be served cold, make sure everyone in the back of house is wearing hair and beard nets and maybe even the personnel at the front prepping all dishes before going to customers are also wearing nets. Overall, service was amazingly fast and food was good, eventhough my burger experience was ruined. And I gave atmosphere 3 stars due to place being so loud, but I don't think...
Read moreNormally we love it. Last night we went to Tommys in Wall/ Sea Girt and had the worst experience. Sat at the bar like we always do. Horrible service took bartender came over right away the first time and our first set of drinks came right away. She gave us our menus and didn't see her again for 25 minutes... the other bartender nor the 5 managers who were hovering around the bar never stopped to check on us either. Finally female bartender came and took our order said we could have given our order to anyone and I said no one has come over to ask us. We get our food but now our drinks need to be refilled again 28 minutes sitting with empty glasses in front of us. Finally the service bartender got my husband's drink and female bartender got mine. We finished our dinner and empty plates are sitting in front of us... nothing... they were there till we left. Again our drinks were empty nothing they talked with the person sitting next to us- served him twice. He was a bartender at the freehold tommys we found out because the bartender was chit chatting with him while our glasses were empty. BTW this bartender that say next to us from freehold was dressed very inappropriately. His shirt was open on the side all the way down to his waist you could see his entire chest. A female manager was trying the drinks and touching them very unsanitary. She smelled one beer and it touched her nose and she had foam on her nose. Another time she was getting fruit for a drink and rubbed her nose with the same hand with the fruit in that hand. I was getting sick watching her. Only positive was the service bartender who we were sitting in front of gave a really good show. He was phenomenal to watch do his job. Even our food which we have ordered many times was cold when we got it... just a bad night all around. We come around 3 times a month sometimes more and this was first bad experience... so I guess not bad odds. Maybe because we were later than we usually come we are usually gone be 5pm we didn't get there until 445 and stayed more into dinner... maybe it's the...
Read moreWe have been customers of Tommy’s Tavern in Sea Bright for many many years and always enjoyed food and atmosphere tremendously. Today four of us decided to try a new location in SEA Girt. I don’t know even where to begin ,first of all music is extremely loud, AC was blowing full blast. When we were sitting down, we asked the waitress to maybe sit us at the different table, she told us to go back to the line. All of us were very hungry, so we decided to stay for our dinner even though it was extremely uncomfortable. We put an order for pizza, some appetisers and main courses.
After 20-30 minutes, we asked our waitress how much longer is the wait for the food. Her response was:we are very busy tonight, no apology, nothing. We waited another 20:30 minutes before we ask her again No response was given again. After waiting for the food for almost an hour, we decided to walk out. On the way out, we asked to speak with the manager and explain him the situation. The waitress who was passing by, showed absolutely no regret when she saw us leaving and just said OK, I will call the manager. The food Service and atmosphere in the Sea Bright location is very good and it’s a shame that Tommy Tavern at this long awaited location is having...
