At first look it seems like a hole in the wall looking from the outside but it's bigger than expected. It is almost like San Francisco, so expect look and pay for parking. Not so convenient. They had a line going so there's a bit of wait but not too bad.
While there are lots of seating the space between the tables is a little tight. But we didn't see any spillage (haha). The place is clean and very cute. I can't quite describe their decor. It's kind of rustic, farm like, with a touch of European. (See pictures :)).
Now let's talk about the food: The Basque omelette was made with Spanish chorizo sausage, onions, bell peppers etc. at every bite you got a taste of the chorizo!
If you like Benedict anything they had plenty to choose from: Crab, Salmon, Katy's Special, California, Santa Fe, Nova Scotia, Veggie eggs, Irish, Classic and more.
What I like about Katy's Kreek is their unique menu, they had something called Calamari Steak and eggs. It looks just like a thin slice, lightly breaded pork chop but in actuality it's calamari in every bite! If you don't want it's tentacles this is the way to go!!! My friend ordered the calamari steak and eggs and his wife ordered the crab Benedict. They each ate half then switched plates and emptied their plates!!! Now that's what I call getting two for the price of one. Actually very smart!!!
Now when you come here don't forget to order the watermelon mimosa or a Bloody Mary!!!! I'm just saying, it's five o'clock...
Read moreI have been twice now and am quite disappointed with the food. The first time around I ordered the “Hash” and was presented with something I’d call sliced, cubed ham that was flavor neutral, accompanied by underdone onions and bland onions. My wife had the pancakes with fruit (which she liked!) my daughter was given a generous bowl of berries (exceeded expectations there, for sure). The service was pretty good, if it wasn’t for my dish I would have probably rated it a four or five. Well, my wife liked the pancakes hence I was convinced to return the next week. In my mind all I had to do was stay clear of the hash, right? Hm … I decided to get brave and ordered the eggs Benedict on top of king crab. DO NOT DO IT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ORDER IT!!! $19 for watered down, likely canned crab meat that is entirely flavorless, gritty and overall simply disappointing! I told the server, only ate a bite of it and was told we’ll look into it … I mean come on … you charged me $19, at least try to make it right! It’s not like I was looking for her to discount the meal but any attempt to resolve this would have been nice. I ordered the most expensive dish on the menu for a reason, I wanted something great and was willing to pay for it … the more I think about it, the more I am tempted to give this one star. Ugh … customer...
Read moreService was terrible(0 stars). Food was good(3 stars). All started with the hostess. We wanted to sit outside. She told us just a few minutes that the table had to be cleaned. Waited outside for almost 10 minutes and no one came to clean the table. Finally gets cleaned by the hostess after I said something to her. I had the country fried steak. Not as good as others I have had but pretty good. My wife had the calamari sandwich. Says it comes with tarter sauce and it came with ranch. It also came with no sides. Said it came with a choice of a side and server never asked. My wife told the server she wanted french fries and they never came. My daughter had the Icelandic pancakes. She liked them. My mom tried to order the 1/2 sandwich with a salad. The waitress kept saying house salad with a chicken avocado sandwich. My mom told her the chicken Ceasar with a ham sandwich. Ended up being served the chicken ceasar with the chicken avocado sandwich. Sent sandwich back for the ham sandwich. Never came. Instead it was the club sandwich which came when everyone else was done eating. Had it...
