I can't say enough about our experience here this evening!! I've had a long day. Work in the yard this morning that needed to be done, almost 2 hour drive to Macon for my daughter's specialist appointment for 2 hours (during which I was trying to catch up on job/business work that I missed this morning and didn't get much done due to having to move room to room and my laptop battery dying), then dreading another 2 hour drive home, only to work some more tonight until I just pass out from sheer exhaustion. We were starving and all I wanted to do was get some dang work done! I decided to wait until we got out of busy Macon and opted for iHop in Warner Robins. Laptop was still almost dead, but was praying I could plug up somewhere.
Our server was Oscar, and I must say; this man earned SO much more of a tip than I could afford to give (think it was around 50%, though I wish I could've afforded twice my check!!). He went out of his way to provide me with an extension cord for my laptop/work since there were no tables immediately in the area of an outlet, he checked on us often but not so much that it was annoying and interrupted my work, he was very kind to my daughter and made us both laugh extensively, he knew we were from a good distance out of town, yet he continued to tell us about what to ask for on our "next visit" (as far as a booth by power, although I'm sure needing power was a unique situation), and above all the respect he showed us was well above and beyond what is required in the service industry. Not only did I get a great deal of work done; I felt relaxed, not rushed as usual. It was about the best experience at a restaurant that I've ever had! I'm in the world of customer service, and even though I pride myself on my CS experience/expertise; Oscar knocked it out of the park, and I'm not ashamed to admit that he surpassed my own abilities!
Yes, we will return to this location every single time we have to come up this way for the specialist or family in Buford! Hope we have the privilege of getting Oscar as our server (manager?) or someone even half as good!...
Read moreHonestly the atmosphere was great. It had a classic midwestern diner feel and MOST of the employees were very friendly and super happy. The other customers in our section were great too. However, we were approached by a woman who was making balloon animals for the kids and she took a few minutes to get each of the kids one and then kind of hung out awkwardly for a moment. She said something but I'm hard of hearing and didn't catch it. But my wife started digging for something and then pulled cash out and tried to offer it to her. But the woman then said something about Cashapp and then my wife said she was asking for a tip. She gave us a card and told us to use the phone number to tip. We had no idea this was a paid service and she made us (and my wife especially) feel super awkward because she pushed for the tip three times. Very odd and unprofessional of IHOP in our opinion. Our server, though straight to the point and clean cut, was not happy to be at work today. He (Ayaz) was very sullen and almost sultry. Quiet, never a smile on his face. Did the absolute bare minimum. His table etiquette was non existent. Our food was basic but the crepe meals were terrible. We got the breakfast crepes and I swear they split a single egg and a single piece of bacon between the two crepes and then loaded the rest of it with old hashbrowns. Disgusting and a waste of money. Also, we got our youngest a $4.29 bowl of fruit and the entire bowl was honeydew melon and a couple of blue berries with three pieces of old pineapple. Absolute waste of money and highway robbery for the price. We won't be going back to this IHOP. It's super unfortunate too because the atmosphere was wonderful. (Get the balloon lady OUT of the restaurant and train your servers to at least put a fake smile on when interacting...
Read moreI visited this IHOP (in Watson Blvd) this morning with 3 of my kids and my husband. When we went inside, we saw there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. We got closer to the host (his name was Sean), and he asked us a question, I didn't hear the question since I'm hard of hearing so I figure he asked me, how many people or how many seats; so I answered 2 adults and 3 kids. and he rudely said: Yeah, I can see that, what's your name? ((((NO GREETING)))). Remember, Sean is the first face I saw when I went inside IHOP: a HELLO would have been the best way to approach a consumer. I'm sorry I couldn't hear what he was asking, I'm sorry I thought you were asking something different, but men, that's not how you greet people when they are coming to spend money at your place. Then, we waited 15 may be 20 minutes to be seated and they finally got us a table, where we couldn't seat comfortable (corner right inside the store, the chairs are too close to the table and you can't move neither of them). We asked the waitress, is there another table? and she said: yes, but you will need to wait another 15 minutes (she felt bad about it and you could see it in her face and that is the only reason I'm giving y'all 1 star). We left without eating anything, I got closer to Sean (the host) and I asked him: what is your name?, and he told me: Sean?, but why? why?, and I told him: I was gonna leave a bad review about this. He seemed surprise and probably he was, just as much as I was. I'm don't wanna give anybody a trouble, but please!!! if you are training your waitress to greet the consumer, please train the host too, cuz, like I said: it will be the first face you see when you walk inside. beside, A hello or a good morning won't take you more than two seconds. It's just being...
