Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Warrensville Heights

Long wait for order to go to feed son in nearby hospital. Order #1 combo. They forgot the fries in the to go order. Got all the way up in my son's hospital rm & did not have the combo I paid for plus the bottled coke was not cold.

I filled out a contact for Dave's Hot Chicken online immediately to provide feedback. It's pretty bad to forget fries on a combo-especially @ the price they charge for a meal.

I rec'd a text late at night past 11 pm-same night from, apparently corporate Dave's Hot Chicken indicating someone would contact me. I responded with a photo of my receipt as requested.

NO ONE ever called or emailed or txt'd back again! Pretty clear no one cared sadly. My son went w/out half his meal. I like the food which was why I went out to try to get food for my son as hospital food is yuck. But paying as much as this place costs to be missing food is not right. Worse, my son didn't have the meal or nutrition as we wanted him to eat.

They have a new location in Canton, OH which is very good. I would not recommend the Richmond location. They mustn't have much corporate or franchise owner concern that they failed to both provide what was ordered nor have the courtesy to reply.

One star for not giving a damn & my son going hungry. At least be kind enough tl take responsibility & apologize. Wow.

☆10/22/24 response to your post: I did your survery from the receipt already! I PROVIDED MY RECEIPT & FILLED OUT OCNTACT DETAILS ALONG W/THE SAME DETAILS AS THIS REVIEW ON THE SAME DAY IF THAT MEAL. YOUR COMPANY TEXTED ME-READ THE REVIEW!! NO ONE RESPONDED, CALLED NOR CARED! You took my money-your meals are expensive also & then ripped me off. That the meal was for my son in the hospital is what's really pretty aweful of your Richmond location which is RIGHT next door to a major hospital! PATHETIC & there is NO way a combo meal listed clearly on the receipt just gets boxed up missing HALF of the meal itself but by inefficiency or carelessness. The consumer is the one who loses...i.e. MY SON who really wanted those fries (carbohydrates) when he hadn't eaten on many hours & had no ability to get food as dinner had been served. BOBBY from Dave's Hot Chicken txed me from 8772-44-6780 & my receipt was sent there. Your company had EVERYTHING you needed to contact me & it's clear we didn't matter the day I chose to buy food to go for my son AND, failure for common courtesy to just apologize & contact me shows the company is not focused on quality or caring about customers. It was food for my son...that meant it matter much more to me that if you all had done this to a meal for me. Hot chicken review

Let's be honest, folks. I've chased good chicken across state lines before, but Dave’s Hot Chicken in Brighton, Michigan? That was a three hour and six minute pilgrimage worth every mile. This isn't your average corner shop dishin out mid chicken. This is artisanal chicken heaven.

Walking in, the aroma of fresh spices mingled with the exciting promise of yummy sauce. Vibrant colors and modern simplistic lounge seating gave the place the perfect representation of ZIP from their chick.

Now, onto the main event: the chicken. Made with quality chicken, the selection offered both classics and unique creations. My internal struggle? Resisting the siren call of chicken tenders, or venturing into the unknown with, say, a Dave’s not chicken.

In the end, the siren call of "#4" won. And let me tell you, it was a symphony in a sandwich. The chicken itself was soft as velvet, melting on your tongue like a dream. The medium flavor? Zing, eye opening zest, and a sweet hint of honey and sauce. It wasn't just spicy; it had a depth of flavor I haven't experienced in a slider before.

Cam, noticing my pure enjoyment (because let's face it, the happy sighs were probably audible), came over to chat. We talked flavors cheese addition, side options galore and the drink choices.

Leaving Dave’s Hot, I felt like I'd discovered a hidden treasure. It's more than chicken, it's an experience. Sure, the three hour drive might seem like a stretch, but for chicken this good, this unique, this crafted with such love? It's absolutely worth it. Extremely unprofessional staff. Whoever owns this location should be livid. I barely write reviews, but this was the last straw. On multiple occasions I have dealt with this negligent and completely unethical staff. It’s the little things up to the big, and to be honest, it’s some stuff I don’t care that much about. You don’t have to greet me upon arrival, although it would be nice. You don’t have to ask me how I’m doing or have common courtesy, although it would be nice. What you do have to do is respect me as a paying customer. That includes but is not limited to; my time, a correct order, and decency. I got none of these! Bare minimum needs are not being met at this establishment. On multiple occasions my order was wrong, last night took the cake though. Arriving at 9:30 to a locked door for an establishment that doesn’t close until 10 is absurd. This isn’t McDonald’s. It’s not one every 5 minutes. Imagine driving across town, excited, ready to indulge in one of your favorite spots and the door is locked 30 minutes early. So you stand there, trying to see if maybe there out of food or something. But NOPE! They’re just tired of working. I finally get inside because someone walks out and after arguing with the manager about why the door would ever be locked 30 minutes early, the best answer they can give me is they are closing soon and if people want it they can go to Lakewood! 30 minutes from where we are currently at! This is insane. I order and then my food is wrong. I try to come back in for a refund and the DOOR IS LOCKED. To hell...
